TERRACING INSTALLATION STEPS UP AT EVERTON STADIUM

Work continues to install the concrete terracing units in the north and south stands at Everton Stadium in preparation for the roof trusses.
The terracing will eventually support temporary structures to hold the trusses in place, once they are assembled at ground level and hoisted at both ends of the stadium later this year.
And with the steelwork close to completion at the southern end of the stadium, and now in place in the north, the focus at each end of the build is on making sure the double-stepped terracing units are slotted into place.
Meanwhile, the shape of the west stand continues to develop, with concrete raker beams and supporting struts now emerging across the length of the stand. These will continue to be installed as each level is built, with the lower raker beams the last to be installed, to allow the pitchside crane assisting in the build to get as close to the stand as possible.
Beneath the west stand, the footprint also includes space for a hydrotherapy pool in the space where the home dressing room is planned.
A new access road is also being laid on top of the concrete foundations in the centre of the east stand. This will allow cranes and vehicles carrying materials to traverse to the centre of the internal bowl, while the rest of the east stand build continues around it.

If anyone's interested, I worked with a seat manufacturer who install seats at stadiums.. they had to allow 12 months just to install the seats at spurs new ground.. a fun fact for you

My great grandad watched Everton when they played in Stanley Park, then Anfield and he chose to stay, he would be appalled at the animosity that had crept in between the two clubs, I would like the first game to be a friendly between the two clubs with no segregation and the fans walk together once again as they did down Wembley way chanting Merseyside.

It's Laing O'Rourke's lattice slab system. The slab is delivered with the bottom reinforcement and bottom 85mm of concrete, known as the biscuit, with triangulated reinforcement "girders" sticking out the top. The girders give the biscuit stiffness in the temporary case. Eventually the top reinforcement is placed ontop of the girders and the rest of the slab thickness is then concreted.

No, it was a major issue with the multi million pound planning and investigation process that they decided to make the stadium far too big, despite looking at the season ticket sales the waiting lists and the amount of intrest in general admission tickets they still went way above. We have currently 31500 season tickets and another 17000 on a waiting list which will likley rise once the stadium nears completion, absolutely no problem filling this ground every week.
