Today we go over the bloomery, this is a building and utility that will allow you to make Iron. Keep in mind we will go over basics and this time there is a lot to cover.

Funny. Here I am in a different decade, playing a Terra Firma Gregtech modpack, but I really needed this video to explain how to actually get the dang thing working. Your videos are super helpful.

Thanks for the tutorial. Seems like you could do with a bronze hammer. At the very least it allows you to practice making tools. I also found that you can make a crucible without iron, so if you find the ingredients for fire clay, you should definitely go ahead and make that first. having one made it much easier to get the last 1200 bronze for the bloomery hatch. The last thing to point out is that you can probably use a fence or a cobblestone wall to stop rain as well as to stop yourself from falling in. Will need to test that one though.

Ugh, I got as far as a bloomery and heard that you can use a crucible to melt down the result. Thinking 'Well, there's a little other metal in there but I'm sure it'll be fine', I put the refined bloom in it, melt it, and get two ingots that are 'unknown' and basically worthless. ): Good tutorial though, nice work

+Masterof thelag yah you have to be careful. Crucibles are touchy when it comes to whats inside. If it doesn't mix into a alloy then it makes that unknown. In fact if you toss in bronze, Copper and Tin, you will get the same result of Unknown which is aggravating to say the least.

@@DHBlaze No joke. I made a world with cheats specifically turned off for some reason. I don't remember the exact process of making blue steel, but I had 3,000 units of some blue steel material in a crucible and poured some into an ingot mold. I decided in the middle of the pour that I didn't want to pour it just yet, so I threw it back into the crucible. Instantly 3,000 units of useless metal. Despite cheats being turned off, I found a way to cheat anyways and get my materials back.

correction to the top: if you build it under a tree, you dont need a hatch and it still works :D

When you record (unless it's low settings for a SPEC reason) Bit Rate needs to be increased (Sorry i just read this video is 8 years old but alas its still true sorry again)

Your tutorials are really helpful indeed i didn't even knew how the hell the anvil works, the wiki wasn't that clear with the"hit, third;punch,last" i was like what third and last mean? then i found you and cool that you made a tutorial on how to make iron! i didn't knew how to, if you haven't posted this video tomorrow i was about to "smelt" some iron that i found but actually its a bit complicated but with your help it can be done!
