LOL: I had no idea that they ever made a live-action music video of the "S.O.S" song from "Terrahawks"! So very 1980s, but I ain't complaining!

I used to love this, one of those catchy songs of the early 80s that you can't help singing along to, like the kind of stuff that was on Top of the Pops every week.

Moya Ruskin was the singing voice of Kate Kestrel, she also portrayed her in the official video for "S.O.S". Kate Kestrel's speaking voice was provided by Anne Ridler. Moya performed several songs as Kate Krestrel and portrayed Kate in person. She went by the stage name Moya Griffiths. She also appeared on the Wide Awake Club in 1984 Agatha Christie's Poirot in 1989 Murder on the Mews as a singer, The Bill in 1990 as a West Indian Woman, Prime Suspect in 1991 and Julie and the Cadillacs

I think this is a great tune! - very catchy and uplifting! A big fan of TERRAHAWKS!! It was religious viewing for me in 1983-4 as a 16 year old - every Sunday afternoon without fail! Send her my best wishes, won't you - and thank her for giving us Kate Kestel 's (SINGING voice. Of course, Anne Ridler provided the regular dialogue) :-)

I remember watching it at the time, and I later picked up the single in a bargain bin for 50p. Still got it somewhere. This song and all of the terrahawks songs and themes are available on a cd album, but it is an exclusive and you can only get it from the fanderson website, and you have to be a member to shop there. Worth thinking about tho isn't it...?

When I was on holiday in 1985, I befriended a girl who was apparently jealous of me because I was a year younger than her, but had more signs of puberty. Whilst I was envious of her because her name was Kate, like my lovely heroine!

Actually, not all the songs (the CD only has three of Kate's songs; as mentioned above the masters for the others are lost). But it does have Richard Harvey's theme tune and demos of alternate themes, and six complete episode scores. The synth music dates more than Barry Gray's big orchestral scores, but it's fun.

@LiamTheGreat11 жыл бұрын
according to her scant imdb page, Moya Griffiths, she was in The Vampyr: a soap opera in 1992. But is she related to Derek Griffiths?
@simpleminded1uk6 жыл бұрын
Was it a soap opera? I think it was an actual opera. I remember it quite vividly actually... and her in it, I think. I recall a line of dialogue from a disgusted taxi-driver (I think) character, reading a newspaper about a woman murdered, "If there's one thing I can't stick / it's a bloke what cuts a chick.' I think the following lines had something to do with 'mug of tea love double-quick', but I may have got that bit wrong.

The song was more of a call out to Thunderbirds. Terrahawks vehicles were similar to IR vehicles eg Terrahawk could be equivalent to TB1. Battlehawk compared to TB2 Treehawk to TB3 Spacehawk similar to TB5. What would have been awesome had all the Gerry Anderson puppets got together for help and the villans eg The Hood Zelda Titan and the Mysterons all get together and end up being against one another's idea
