Following our Cardboard Bricks and Stones Terrain Techniques video, Texture Paper is the technique that transforms your build from cardboard into stone (and much more)!
This technique is not limited to rock and stone! While it is an amazing way to craft brick, rock, and stone terrain out of cardboard, I also show how I use texture paper to make my handmade cardboard Mordheim buildings ruins, cardboard trees, and city riser platforms, and more.
Use simple build your own techniques and crafting materials accessible to ANYONE - cardboard, "texture paper" (toilet paper or tissues), glue, and dirt - to create amazing fantasy crafts, terrain, and art! No xps foam or proxxon hot wire cutter table necessary! The only tools you need are scissors, a little knife, and a cheap paint brush.
Detail your terrain builds and amaze your friends as they join you for games of Frostgrave, Mordheim, Forbidden Psalm, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer Fantasy Old World, Age of Sigmar, 40K, or anything else!
Imagination is the only limit to your creativity :) and if inspiration is what you seek, check out some of my other videos and keep watching for my forthcoming Two Week Table series!

Genuinely think you should be the go to for any new crafters. All essentially free, maybe £10 for PVA, a few paints and a few brushes, that’s literally it for cost. Really awesome stuff and I love your chill delivery. Also I knew you showed texture paper somewhere before but couldn’t find it. It was the dang trees!! I will use it on my ruined church I’m working on, thanks 👍👍

I saw the previous video about cardboard bricks to see how you’d get the texture even though I already thought: "This is just paper mache isn’t it?" I must say I’m glad that it is and that you didn’t go for anything more complicated. These videos fill a niche in the terrain building part of KZbin that is so far severely underrepresented. Basically, anyone can build good looking terrain with your steps without having to lay 50,000 foam bricks by hand. I also appreciate the subtle humor in your videos, the wood video in particular.

I've made rivers with this method but never thought to use it for bark. So cool, subbed. Thanks friend.

Love your concepts and techniques. Extremely useful. I think your terrain would really come alive if you varied the colors more, though. Painting everything the same gray with white dry-brushing is too monotone. Unless that is your goal -- in which case you have succeeded marvelously. I think multiple colors would be my preference. I suspect that paper towels would be a better paper choice for most applications: thicker, heavier, stiffer? I will need to experiment with this, and toilet paper, however. Cheers!

Another great vid. Glad you mentioned how strong the glue/modpodge on cardboard can be. I mentioned it one of your other videos and we chatted about it. I can't recommend it enough. Really is impressive just how strong the cardboard becomes.

It has an appearance similar to plaster, but it's lighter and more durable. Great tutorial. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your process! I'm really enjoying watching your experiments and the results look really fantastic, I would not have thought cardboard at all. Your color choices are very nice too, reminding me a little of Elden Ring buildings, ruins, environments etc. Very imaginative and inspiring, I'm looking forward to what you make next!

I used your method as much as I could from your cave video. I wasn't building a cave, it was a hill, and a pool. Pretty happy with them. I've been considering trying to make some ruins as well, and now that I see this, I think I'll have to try it out. Thank you.

I made a carsick fence based on your videos and so far it’s looked really good, just need to paint it up, used a lot of texture paper to make mounds of snow if you just really like it up. It basically makes a paper mache

What has been your experience with texturing the cardboard before cutting it into stone/bricks... Kinda making a homemade egg crate material?
