People have been asking me where I've been since I now haven't uploaded since late 2019. So I'm just going to pin my response so people know I'm fine, better than fine. I really appreciate the concern, it's very humbling. I'm still going to make content. That said, in the past it was my full-time job and I'd often spend 80+ hours a week making that content. Now that I'm a Designer at Gunfire Games I sometimes work from like 9am to midnight, not because anyone is forcing me but just because I enjoy it so much. Point being, there's only so many hours in the day and managing my time is important. Simply put, content isn't my job anymore, it's back to being like when I started years ago and it's just going to be a hobby again. And hobbies are something you practice only when you have extra time or make time for it. I'll get to it eventually but it honestly feels very good to play a game and just enjoy it instead of trying to think of content for it. On the other hand though, I love video editing and writing, and eventually I'll want to get back to that as a hobby, but right now it's still fresh as a job. At some point, in the not too distant future, I'll want to make content because I just want to make content, not because I need to in order to pay rent. I think that's an important transition to make, back to hobbyist from job, and I'm just not there yet. Also, I've always had other dreams beyond KZbin, like being a game designer, and (almost) one year ago when my dad died I decided life is short and it was time to take action to pursue those dreams. Now, less than a year later, I've completely shifted career paths to follow that pursuit. It's kind of scary but I'm enjoying the ride so far. Long story short, for the time being I'm enjoying playing games while making games instead of making gaming content, but I enjoy making content too much to give it up forever. I'll be back eventually.

Note: the Elder Knowlege Trait no longers gives 1.75% xp by level, it gives 1%, going up to 20%. I thinks it is still a must-have.

I didn't know this game had quasi-infinite levels at first, so I skipped that trait thinking the points would be wastes once I reach "max level". Didn't realize my mistake until I was already rank 100-ish.

To get Simulacrum faster, do adventure mode. Each run has 1 so if you clear 1 adventure mode zone, you’re going to get 1. Then reset adventure mode map and repeat. Got 15 Simulacrum in 20 or so hours in the game. Roughly 1 per hour as a normal mode earth clear won’t take long Edit: also you don’t have to clear an adventure mode zone. A few times I found a Simulacrum in an alleyway a few minutes in and I reset the adventure mode right away

2nd reason to give Ixillis heart to Iskal Queen is that you won't have to re-roll your campaign if you want the Labyrinth armor in the Corsus DLC. There really isn't a reason not to give it to her unless you want the UK scythe. The fight is even easier.

Small tip for later, Curse of the Jungle god side arm. Its tentacles not only knock down and stagger for massive damage. They also....work in combination with Leech. Meaning the melee leech ring you have, work on the tentacles. And given the damage they deal, they will give you back 25 to 30% max life per hit. The weapon itself is one of the best side arms in game, it packs a punch, and have a great mod in the tentacles, making corridor fighting a breeze since nothing can reach you. Combine this with sentries and well, thats how you run through Night mare. But Curse of the jungle god is my tip, combined with leech ring, to a weapon nearly a must have for a smooth nightmare runthrough.

Hope they make more games like this, because Remnant is somehow pretty unique in its blend of survival, horror, post-apocalyptic, RPG, story, etc and blends it together in a really really satisfying way. There are a few tweaks that would have made it better (journal to record lore finds so you don't have to go back to them and read them in the world, a more understandable relation between upgrading gear and enemy levels, a little insurance system for bad RNG, and a more approachable first boss than Gorefist/Shroud would top my list), but on the whole, it's an amazing game and I hope they make more.

I feel it worth mentioning that the simulacrums will always spawn in the same locations in every world you generate. Thus allowing for easy farms if you speed run.

Simulacrum must be in the mini-boss dungeon after the Church map on Earth, takes around 30mins or less to get one if u keep rerolling. This is 100% spawn, got over 20 of it from there. Corsus's one will be in the first big map after entering.

@@Heyyouhello950 It's not that the game ain't hard, its just that directional dodge is more instinctual to use than neutral dodge when you try to avoid an attack. Also, as probably all games, it gets easier with time played. Highest difficulty still can be brutal sometimes tho. For sure give this game a try.

@TerraMantis, i did find out something extremely useful especially when you fight the final boss on corvus. If you go into your adventure mode on Earth you eventually of actually find a boss that splits apart. I don't know the name offhand since I'm relatively new to the game. Once you defeat the boss you get a thing called Flicker. With this one it actually helps you withstand a lot of the attacks and you do not stagger. I believe the percentage that you can withstand is 116% of your maximum health if you maximize your vitality. I do this is a co-op with a friend and it really did help out because I took a lot of the aggro from they souls that they in spawn in the fight as well as the beam when you drop them below 50% health. To help regen your mod capacity since you have your spirit gauge to 20 if you use the sniper found you can build up at gauge within five to six shots minimum. And then of course if you want to build it faster he used to submachine gun. I'm hoping if those who read this message as well helps them.

That winged bastard took forever best to whittle down their health to almost dead then take them both out at the same time. You get a nice axe that regens weapon abilities if you can pull it off.

Just leaving this comment to confirm that Ace DOES at one point sell a Simulacrum. For me it was a bit over halfway through my first playthrough. Haven't yet seen it on my 2nd playthrough. Also. Additional info for the neutral dodge: Many of the melee weapons have a unique attack if you melee right after dodging. Eg. The spears will do a wide sweep useful for crowd control (charged or normal) while ALL of their usual attacks are thrusts, and if you do a charged melee with any of the hammers straight out of a neutral dodge, you'll perform a big overhead leap-smash which can deal significantly more damage than a regular charged hammer blow! (My personal favourite) ...but it does have a big windup. Hope this helps some of you fellow adventurers :D

Like GoodGameGamer said, I also beat the game over 8 times, checked Ace constantly and she never sold Simulacrum for me once. That said, until the patch with some fixes yesterday, I guess she used to randomly (and semi-permanently until reroll) disappear from people's game world. Needless to say, I think there is or was something buggy going on with it. Clearly different from person to person. Hopefully it's all fixed now.

Seems to be zero simulacrum on normal in my experience, but playing on hard ... found a simulacrum in adventure which I was not expecting, and then Ace sold another when I got back to the ward. Didn't see this during the friendly fire section, but also revive your teammates when pvping. You get a trait for extra revive speed after reviving so many times, which is very crucial on harder difficulties and hard bosses. Also the suspicion trait is available for anyone as long as you're the one dying, so when my friends joined I was able to get them the trait because of our friends kept staying in the back and dumping lead into us Great video nonetheless

A very useful kinda "hidden" mechanic i've found is being able to manipulate the level of dungeons and new zones on first playtroughs. There's a reddit post about it but here's a pseudo short story version: Every time you enter a new map for the first time the game checks the level of your strongest weapon/armor (even if you don't have it equipped) and asigns said level +1 to enemies and *puts upgrade materials in said zone accordingly*, for example, you won't see Galvanized Iron until you have something upgraded to +10. This means that you can hold onto your irons to spawn a low level zone and upgrade your stuff afterwards to dash trough it easily OR you can start maxing your gear asap to spawn rarer Irons earlier on. This also "kinda" works on boss fights too except they have a minimal level at wich they can spawn.

I wondered how it assigned difficulty, I guess that explains why resetting the campaign made things harder, since the game re-rolled the levels of the starting areas based on my now stronger gear. Kinda makes it feel like leveling gear is a lost cause, if it just makes the game harder, negating the bonuses the gear levels grant. Any word on how co-op affects this mechanic? If I have a friend that has +20 gear joining a brand new host character, would that make super hard enemies spawn?

the fact that dodge-rolling and neutral dodging removes a burning effect (stop drop and roll) is one of the cheekiest things ive ever seen in a game. i love how simple yet ingenious it is

It's tough because I clearly have a different relationship with the game now and anything I do is an "official voice" of the game. Meaning, I'm sort of speaking for more than just myself even if I say "this my opinion and my opinion alone" the perception is "he works for Gunfire and what he says is representative of Remnant 2 and Gunfire Games". Love the vibes, the class creation(made a broken one shot build with my star shot weapon) all the different mods and fun and interesting puzzles(though I get stuck a lot 😂) I can’t believe you we’re working on such a wonderful team I hope you got a lot of pride from this great game! 10/10!!

Same here. I was just really hesitant due to the horrifying fat rolling you did with that armor. I mean you're gonna need to do directional rolling here and there but now I know the hidden meta on the neutral dodge now.

I recently downloaded this game again cause the lack of motivation on The Division 2 made me go back and check my game library. Also Ixallis XVI, if you shoot it in it's tiny little face when it's charging it's super move, it get stunned and takes 20% of it's health bar off, then doesn't do the super move.

@@epicgamingrevolution2935 This really is the secret to the boss: if you do enough damage while it's charging up it's screech attack, it'll get staggered and cancel the attack (and hitting it during this is weakpoint damage, so it takes a lot of hp damage as well). So what you want to do is blast one until you see it get the stagger, then instantly switch targets and interupt the other as well before it can finish charging (you might need to switch to your secondary weapon to finish this, if you have a long reload!). If they finish charging you take a good chunk of damage, or just straight up die if they both charge, and it hits the entire room.

@@epicgamingrevolution2935 A working set up is ,if you were lucky, to use gunslinger amulet (+10% firerate and +25% reload speed) and the double barrel shotgun with fire rounds mod. the starting pistol or smg is a good idea as your back up in order to shoot down the homing spheres they spawn (those deal a crapton of damage and have a stupidly strong homing capability).

You can chunk way more of Thier health bars if you have enough crit chance and damage when they are charging the screech. Gun slinger charm devouring loop and heartseeker with the sniper rifle and add frenzy dust and adrenaline. Dam near one shotted the first one and took over half health from the second

I know it's been a month, you may have finished the game, but even so, I'm gonna share some advice with you. If you destroy Singe's (do Adventure Mode on Earth if you didn't get Singe as the World Boss) tail, you can get an item that can be turned into an SMG that does more damage but has a lower fire rate(?) and less ammo(?) than the SMG you get in Ward 13. I haven't completed the game yet, but that weapon has been amazing, far better than the SMG in Ward 13, especially when you level it up a bit. Its Weapon Mod lights things on fire, so it's a very easy way to put the burning effect on bosses for damage over time.

@@owlface2365 I hope you had a good holiday season, I spent some of mine playing through Remnant, and I've just completed the game (not the DLC). You get a lot of cool weapons from bosses, as well as weapon mods, armour, trinkets, etc. I was able to find a ring called the Soullink Ring that lets your summons absorb some health when they attack. This comes in handy if you're running low on health and don't have much of a chance to restore it or deal with the enemies. I find that enemies don't tend to target your summons, especially if they are the flying skulls, so you can restore your HP while they do some damage and deal with enemies. Works good for getting rid of enemies spawning in boss fights, but bare in mind this isn't gonna be helpful at all times. But yeah, having completed the game now, I will try to use some other weapons. One big advantage of the SMG is that you can attach a weapon mod to it. You can't do that with the one you can get from Singe. But... What it does have is good, so it's a fair trade off. Best of luck with the game, it can be a bit annoying, but I don't find it nearly as hard as dark souls, for example. I'll be completing the DLC and then get into the second game!

Just started playing this game a week ago and I'm at the Xillis battle now. I never did any of that in the beginning. I'm going to teleport to the Founder's Hideout and get the SMG. Thanks ! One question though, I noticed below people use this term that I've never heard of before. On this game, people refer to "Re-rolling" a campaign. What's re-rolling and what happens when you do it ? Hell yeah dude! I’m just under 10 hours into this game and it’s growing on me a lot. I learned more things in this video than I’d thought. Much appreciated. As a Soulsborne fan, it does a lot right. A little janky at times but it’s a solid game. Only going to plan on beating it once for now but it’s been really fun to this point. It’s a Ps+ free game for March yall so go download it if not! Also, for the ixillis fight just use turret mod when the white sperm balls start spawning, that way the turrets keep them off of you and you can just focus on dodging/focusing the boss.

Very fun game for someone who has enjoyed souls likes for a while. I should note, however, the neutral dodge does have a time difference while in Ultra Heavy weight. You didn’t mention it in the video so i figured I’d point it out here.
