I left the captain alive when playing it on my 3rd char and was blow away by the result, did not expect a different mission ending after having done it 2 times... I like how most strikes and missions have alternate dialog if you play them a second time, or this alternate ending, its a small thing but adds a lot to the experience when you notice it

Maybe we dont have to be enemies. In the grimoire cards from destiny 1, we learn that the fallen were abandoned by the traveler when the darkness came to fuck shit up. Now that the traveler is awake and maybe if the guardians can make an alliance with the fallen, the traveler might be able to help them once again. Also I cant be the only person who wants to see a prequel game where you play as fallen guardians before the traveler went to earth

It seems Mithraax is the only Eliksni that is willing to stand by Guardians, Variks let all prisoners out of the PoE, and made his escape in a ship, also most people want to kill Fallen because they attack on sight, but we do the same, so they have no choice. They just want to know why the Traveler betrayed them.

Did people not know about how you can spare the captain? Wasn't that the obvious choice? I mean the Fallen aren't exactly inherently evil. They just lost their planet and the Traveller's light and they have no choice but to fight other races for their own survival. It doesn't mean they don't have personalities and wills of their own.

The Fallen kind of are though. They did take over the Cosmodrome pretty violently. But sure that was probably one house out of many. Destiny 2 they're all united into one house and they straight up follow humanity wherever they flee to kill them off.

In the eyes of the Fallen: humanity (as a species, Exos and Awoken included) are thieves who stole the Great Machine (the Traveller) and have done nothing to deserve it. Aside from which: the Fallen followed the Traveller, saw the humans had it, tried to steal it -- they've spent centuries living as pirates it just came naturally -- and failed, then they settled in to eke out a meager existence. They think the Guardians are trying to loot the same places they are and they're more than willing to kill to get another hour of life.

Veltrusen Heterin But like I said, they aren't inherently evil. The Vex and Hive have no choice in the matter in terms of letting a guardian live. No matter if the guardian saves their lives or not. Since the Vex are just a network of Radiolarian fluid, they don't have any kind of emotion, other than the fear that they have for the Light since they cannot replicate it. As for the Hive, they can only stay alive if they live by their nature and feed their worm. To spare a guardian is to go against that nature and will result in their worm consuming them instead. That's what I mean by the Fallen not being inherently evil. They do have their own individual emotions and are the closest to humans in that regard.

Personally I think its Oryx's worm. When you kill knights with a headshot their bodies disintegrate and their worms fall out for a bit before exploding and dying. Oryx's body didn't disintegrate when we killed him and we killed him while he was at his largest size. It's possible that Oryx fell to Titan after the Raid, and his worm escaped into the methane ocean. That would partially explain the presence of the hive there, and the existence of the taken.

lastmann415 There was one lore card back in D1 where Cayde talks about fighting off Hive along side a Fallen. A temporary allegiance. Unfortunately (she?) made a move against Cayde afterwards, tired and slow after a thoughtful pause in the sea of Hive bodies. Cayde thinks the Fallen did so, so Cayde was forced to kill them. (Being enemies after all, also may of had an injury?) Nice to see the Fallen being portrayed in a more in-depth light of character. Rather than just another enemy type

One theory.... Remember the stranger? The female exo? Who talked about something coming in the future and she had no time to explain... Remember Cayde when he was trapped? When HE was in there he talked about how he had no time to explain..... And this was after the red legion destroyed us.... Maybe... the exo stranger was from a different dimension (where Cayde is a girl) and let’s us know ahead of time that something was coming...... Just something cool i heard from other lore videos about the captain. His armor appears to have bits of gold/yellow hinting towards the captain being from the house of kings. and in the lore it seems that prince uldren is currently in charge of the entire house of kings. more of a reason why the guardians and fallen could team up

Quick note about the jukebox - there is a lost sector at Thieves Landing, where some fallen rock to good old jukebox songs from D1. That's until you bust in and shoot poor creatures dead. Achievement unlocked: Party Pooper Friendly fallen captain - this guy's survival is essential for exotic weapon quest. Squeak-squeak.

I don't know if you knew but after the mission "Six" after saving cayde and meeting Fail-safe in that room, i remember doing something on my phone for a bit and that's when i heard fail-safe say something about an error due to cayde trying to go back in time to kill that guy, after this happened, i replayed the mission but I didn't get anything after that.

The first thing is also a mechanic/cool thing, in the game ghost recon wild lands. The scope will spot out all nearby chests and this how I came into destiny already figuring it out in a couple days
