In this StarCraft 2 strategy guide, we delve into the critical decision of whether to prioritize infantry damage or infantry armor upgrades. This does fail to take into account that stimpack is always going to be the most important upgrade for terran bio, and its attack speed increase makes attack upgrades much more effective than they are on their own. Plus a lot of protoss units come with a lot of durability for cost already and the zerg have larva.

@@shaydenprime275 I was stating reasons why attack upgrades might be more valuable. Most protoss gateway units already come with one armor immediately, and with the way zerg work you have plenty of remax potential and often time the main goal of the engagement is just to get an effective trade.

Attack upgrades are always a 1 damage buff for the marine that has a really high attackspeed while the thing shooting back at you probably has a lower attackspeed or doesn't even have one (spellcasters). Another extremely important detail is that a lot of the time, marines are used for harassment where you kill workers and buildings while absolutely nothing is shooting back at you where only the attack upgrade is useful.

의료선 없는 올인 할 때는 방업 먼저지만 의료선이 있고 전투자극제 쓸 수 있는 보통의 상황에서는 무조건 공업 먼저

Ah yes, Ive got to prepare my 1-3 upgrades for when I have to deal with 30 ghost v. 30 ghost.

It doesn't explain anything if you throw groups of same unit type shooting each other with different upgrades, who the hell doesn't know 3+2 and 2+3 both equals to five for marine upgrades? You can rather just let marines shoot a planetary which got 3 base armor and see how different it goes.

Attack. What is not taken into account here is the power of Stim and Medivacs. Terran Bio will rarely, if ever, be used without a Medievac to heal, which mitigates the need for armor. Stim Attack speed increases the efficiency of attack boosts. Additionally, when you're Terran, you are the middle of the road durability faction. Zerg can remax on you faster than you can, so you need to kill their units quick. Protoss are tanky for their cost, compared to yours. Attack is needed to do these two things. Armor should be taken when you're waiting for the next tier for attack upgrades. BTW, this applies to all factions. Attack is always priority, because it decreases "time to kill" on enemy units, making yours more efficient if it's a 1 Attack vs 0 Upgrade.

Для пехоты +1 и аткак и броня. Возможно фиолетово им. Зато тем юнитам, где за 1 улучшение дамаг дают +2 урона, уже есть смысл - +2 дамага или +1 брони

Not very usefull, the moral is that usually defense is worse because only help the units that are taking damage in most cases are only the front units, damage upgrade help the units that are dealing damage wich in most cases will help all your units, if you stutter step the units with damage will have advantage against defense. Their effectiveness also vary a lot depending on units matchups like on marine vs any unit, a defense upgrade counters marine damage(1-1=0), but defense upgrades doesn't counter marauder and siege tank damage since they increase more than 1 damage

My marines deal 1 more damage. Your marines take 1 less damage. +1 - 1 = ???? Answer: everyone on the internet is stupid.

If you want a realistic result, do a realistic test. And please use some math, if you know "spiritofthelaw" from age of empires 2, there is a lot of theory going behind upgrades in RTS games.

Well that and sc2 was made with competitiveness in mind so they'd obviously try and make it as close of a comparison as possible. It's sorta surprising it's as close as it is, and even favoring defense without stimpaks.
