Terranigma - Hidden Areas

This is a fun game to play through. I never did expand all the towns.
There are about 1,109 areas in the game. The areas are in the lower right hand corner. The ones in ( ) are normally in the game but placed there for reference. I find the arrangement strange as the early ones are linear to the story but the ones related to the town expansion are scattered around it. Though there are a number of scenes where it shows only a blank screen (or whatever was loaded previously). The blank areas are excluded, and included are the ones where the hero is rendered. In-amongst the game are certain reused scenes that load different depending on flags. Both Crysta and Storkolm both share the movable entryway and the same variable controls whether its there or not. Area 005 is used for both the plane and the bird flyovers, likewise the chapter titles for CH. 1-3 are shared. Area's 451-455 are kinda buggy (excluded), they load inside-crysta scenes but no hero. If I missed anything let me know.
Note: Perfect Walk-thru-walls makes the slide tackle useless as seen in the video.

I can't watch this yet! I just started the game on Friday. I guess great minds are drawn alike to great games. I first discovered it five years ago when I was reading up on Illusion of Gaia, my favorite game for seventeen years, ever since I was a kid. I was thrilled to find out that it had a "sequel" of sorts! I'm absolutely loving the game so far. Games like these are what inspired me to become a game programmer. Thanks for the video! I'll watch once I finish the game. :)

@@Grachtnakk Great question! It's roughly the 10 year anniversary of when I played Terranigma, so I feel like I can finally answer. It was an unforgettable experience and I plan to play it again soon! I still listen to the OST all the time, and there are some great remixes and arrangements on KZbin if you search for them. As for Terranigma itself, I feel like it's an iteration on a story that the Quintet team has been trying to tell through the Soul Blazer / Illusion of Gaia / Terranigma trilogy. A story about birth, life, growth, evolution, death, and rebirth. While all themes are present, they focus on certain ones more than others in each game. Terranigma specifically focuses on growth and evolution, as Ark progresses through the eras. It's an ambitious series of themes to attempt to convey, especially for a series of SNES games. I think taken as a whole, they do more than just scratch the surface- They really make you think about the cycle of life, and our place within it.

How do you actually expand towns? Do you need items to do that, or do you need to beat sidequests? This game seems very deep. Just like ActRaiser.

dertien vijfenvijftig There are people in every town that need help. Find someone who buys the painters' works, someone who likes the wine from another town and so on. It's actually a pretty cool system espeacily for a Super Nintendo game. I'm currently playing it for the first time since it was released and it has aged really well. Actraiser is amazing, too. It's also from Quintet just like Terranigma. Do you know Illusion of Time/ Gaia and Soul Blazer? Those games and Terranigma are a "kind of" trilogy. Not connected in story but they share similar themes and atmosphere.

Excellent video, too bad that terranigma isnt very researched in terms on secrets, bugs, the history and that kind of stuff because i think that is a very deep game in all aspects. Did you tested your perfect walk trougth walls code to access zones that become inaccesible at points in game like berugas dungeon or dragoon castle after collapse?

Please tell me how you did the "instant warp"! I could not find this cheat. I found out that the area is stored in address 7E047E/F, but if I pin the value with a gameshark code, nothing happens, no warp.

+ops opss This isn't the original SNES version, but a PC emulator thing, thus being able to do all that stuff. Personally, I prefer the good ol' SNES.
