Each house has different names, named after the original location of the houses before they were moved to Terrapuri. For example, Galeri Teluk Pasu. Teluk Pasu is the name of the village where the house originated. There's also Rumah Tasek, Gelugor Raja, Tebakang, Kedai Buloh etc.

yes..finally terrapuri...! it's located between sea and river..sg. setiu..river at the back south china sea in front. The whole area stretched from rivermouth about 7 km to Penarik main road..as Terengganuese myself this place is mind blowing, so beautiful..

Just for your information. These houses have long leg not primary for storage. They are basically designed this way to avoid the house and furniture get damaged by the flood from annual monsoon season. Terengganu and kelantan face North East monsoon every year during end of the year and most area are flooded.

How long are guys planning on staying in Malaysia? Since u guys are stil in Terengganu why not check out Redang Island and Tasik Kenyir...another beautiful places in Terengganu. Try the tasik kenyir boat house & dont forget to bring along fishing gears...!! Try ur luck there...who knows...u might catch a big freshwater fish there & get to eat it on the boat house.

Yeah u guys should go to Kenyir Lake (tasik kenyir). Here some information i google for u.. Tasik Kenyir or Kenyir Lake is an artificial lake located in Hulu Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia created in 1985 by the damming of the Kenyir River. The lake provides water to the Sultan Mahmud Power Station. It is the largest man-made lake in mainland South East Asia with an area of 260,000 hectares

You guys found the secret hideaway in Terengganu. The owner of Terrapuri, Alex put in lots of money & efforts to build this place. The stretch of beach outside is one of the most beautiful in Terengganu mainland with tons of coconut trees. The sunset view outside Terrapuri is splendid. A bit further South, there are a lot of seaside stalls selling fried seafood especially fishes, squids & prawns dipped in batter & fried. We locals call them "celup tepung". Enjoy your stay & let us know if there are anything that goes "bump" at night. The place looks kinda creepy at night, right? Hahaha...

Love Kampong houses, was staying in one of those when I was in Langkawi behind Ladang Padi at Cenang. Those days across the road only the Chinese Seafood restaurant and a few Malay Campur places. Very breezy from across the sea, no high rise buildings or hotels. Except Pelangi Hotel which was 400metre down the road. Love it when it rain, the sound of the rain on the zinc roof...very soothing!

I was told that this is 1 of The best resorts apart from Tanjung Jara which is too modern (& steep) for yoga retreats! Wow! As mention, tradisional wooden Malay house dont have attached bathroom. We dug well nearby to get our water supplies. Liqour bottles had served its purpose and the sea was the best place to throw them away, I suppose. TQ guys.

Most of the older houses in the east coast were build on stilts to avoid the flood, that why there is a sampan under the house. The paneling are unique to these area, and it’s difficult to find modern craftsmen who can do this (even if you’re lucky, it’s going to be very expensive). Normally the wood are from cengal or other long lasting wood type. In Melaka (if not mistaken in Taman Aseana), the state government had a collection of these traditional houses from each of the Malay states, but they’re not as well maintained.
