The coin gun is a weapon in Terraria that uses money as ammo. So, for this playthrough I will have to constantly balance my funds between purchasing items and attacking enemies.

Tip: ammo in the inventory is consumed left to right top to bottom, so if you put a bunch of copper coins in your inventory and put silver and gold in the bottom right of your inventory then the copper should get consumed first

The coins automatically combine when you pickup new money. What I wanted was for the coin gun to craft the coins down for me instead of having to open my inventory every 30 seconds.

The coin damage rates have an insane effieciency falloff with the cost of using the next step up being an 100 to 2 ratio, the cost to fire is multiplied by 100 but the damage output is multiplied by 2 btw you should try this on master mode where you drop all money on death, really amp up the challenge

oh i had a money farm when i got into terraria recently without watching tutorials i used to farm for vertebra and vicious mushrooms on the crimson [taking the opportunity to make an arena for later farms (i didnt know at the time there was a "hardmode")], make the brain summon item and get 2 stacks of crimtane within two to three fights 1 stack would get me at least 1 platinum coin from a happy npc. I used to do this a lot since i enjoyed combat in terraria. When i fought the wall of flesh, i had almost 40 platinum coins on me. Today i go for the efficient ones available on the web tho

THe nice thing about the coin gun, is that killing any enemy should always result in a net ammo profit, since it takes anywhere from 2-5 bullets for most small enemies, and if they drop silver, you get at best 98 ammo back.

Oh lord, coin gun is all i ever use throughout the game during hardmode and since I always have so many platinum coins allowing to even beat moonlord with it and I've done that so many times to the point where I actually thought to myself "how is this a challenge run?Isn't this normal?"
