There is a mod called Infinite Minions that has various different items to increase, and eventually remove, the summon and minion cap. It’s balanced around progression, but the infinite item (level 10) is accessible post moonlord, so you can do this with that too lmao

We used that to begin with but I wanted the game to be broken from the start so I opted for another one.

5:10 the Eater was giving you a debuff that seemed to disable the defense your drones were giving you (indicated by a broken shield), likely added by Death Mode

With done minions you need to hold right click for defense and regen but it will not do dmg so he let go for dmg and died
