Ok so I have this very specific vivid memory of a herobrian-esque scenario in terraria which happened when I was kid. I didn’t have the best pc back then but I remember when I was walking across the world as you do and the game was a bit laggy and on the far side, there was a copy of my character but with no pupils. That’s literally it, it was a real while back, dunno if it was before or after hard-mode implementation but maybe it’s happened to other people or just my early onset scizo

Thats crazy interesting, I had my own similar weird experiences with Terraria, mainly on the console edition. I remember seeing a lot of random blocks in space, around the top barrier of the world. It was very jarring, the blocks up there seemed entirely arbitrary, I havent seen anyone document anything similar to it

Terraria Modder ( im actually the spriter but shhhh ) here, ill try my best to explain what i can: 0:50 Terraria is actually in a 3D space infront of you, its just the prospective makes it 2d! you somehow made the camera view the world (and all of existence) at the side, and then fucked up the lighting around the camera. 1:40 You somehow applied the red dye shader to everything! congratulations! 1:50 You inverted gravity's values without actually inverting gravity, and the game tried to put the player outside of the world border, which crashes the game. 2:40 the only thing i know is that the snow at certain areas in this world likes to be a specific two frames of connectivity? Still dont have any idea on why it crashed, terraria is more resilient when it comes to stuff like that (crashing because of an unknown value) as i understand. 3:05 This lava wall basically has two parameters, for when it starts and for when it ends, i think its end value was set to somewhere in the sky. 4:00 My ''professional'' opinion is that This terraria game was on VHS 4:20 Reforges are like, two values in a text file you can alter, its very funny. 4:40 Centaur :3 5:00 The camera is trying to pan in the direction it was moving, but the corruptor made this value something extremely high, so it renders the place the camera is trying to be for a frame, and then goes back to the player. 7:05 Its compiling mandarin, Arabic, Japanese and other such languages ontop of each other 7:20 you have no collision to blocks, your gravity value is astronomically high, and the world border acts as a hard barrier against attempts to use velocity to escape its bounds. 8:00 your velocity spiked and you went so fast the game couldn't check for collisions, you actually see it for a moment when your slightly flung over the water, You died of fall damage because you went downwards with a velocity spike upon hitting the world border, and because the floor collision is better than wall collision. 8:40 Sorry i had a golden delight earlier. 8:46 I mean, basically yeah. 9:00 graphics offset of somekind? like the one when you chop trees? also i have no idea on how you died. Just occurred to me that this is the console port of terraria, and as such my knowledge is null and void :0

Is there any way to get around the going to fast for collision? I found a way to do that with portals and the pink inflatable thing but I wanna go faster, I gotta break the speed of light

@@Pexiltd As i understand, without hoiking (which is using the collision checks on slope's to basically have a negative speed value and glitch through a wall.) You cant in vanilla, quite literally using portals and the inflatable thing is the only way. You might be able to do something glitchy with minecarts, but im not sure.

This "version" of Terraria gave me the same feel of playing Pokemon Silver in the childhood, and then finding & playing Pokemon Lost Silver (a fan-made creepypasta) years later. Or remembering playing minecraft as a child and getting your ass to play this one "haunted" fan-made version of Minecraft years after not playing the original (i don't quite remember how this one was called, but you'll sure find it somewhere on the internet, lmao). Except here you don't get jumpscared by a wave of uncanny sounds which always piss me off in this kind of games.
