I think the star should have piercing equivalent to a waterbolt's projectile - that way you can get the most out of the *ornaments* , as it seems like most of your damage is really going to come from those things themselves. The ornaments could also explode into fragments that *also* deal damage but much less damage than the ornaments... so something like a cluster bomb.. I'm sure with that, the damage could at least be more usable and the weapon won't be treated as simply a novelty because "it looks like a christmas tree it's festive har har"
