DSAS (Digital Shoreline Analysis System) using ArcGIS - Tutorial 1

Dear terra spatial, I have a chart box after click "cast transects", it is "DSAS Alert : Warning! DSAS encourages the user to provide some basic information in the Metadata Setting tab before proceeding with casting transects and running rates of change..." and then i was click Ok > and show a box "upgrade Transect Layer". For the continue, I don't know to change "select a ;egacy transect file to upgrade" because because there are no options available. Where to get a "Legacy_Transects" ? or do you have any idea to this case? Thankyou!

How can I merge the "shoreline" and merged shp file of shoreline? After 8:55 I didn't understand how all the 3 shoreline merged with "Shoreline" feature. Could you please help me to complete this thing. Thank you.

Hello .. when you were creating the base feature in geodatabase it was polygone , later hiw did you convert that into line form .

I need to learn DSAS, I can pay some reasonable money too.. I want to learn, 1, Dsas 5.0 add on in Arc gis 2, Personal geo database creation and create shoreline and baseline file creation with all field and data types in attribute table. 3, proper Transects creation 4, Basic knowledge of LRR, EPR, NSM, SCE, LR2, LSE 5, Calculating all statistical results 6, Merging all results with Transects and creating profile for all 7, Beta shoreline prediction for next 20 years. And their statistical calculation.

Thank you for the video, I wanted to know from how many shoreline (polyline) DSAS can generate transect. Is it possible to make a study with more than 10 even 15 shoreline...?

Hi Peuxmieuxfaireman piel, thanks for your valuable feedback and comment. I had gone through few document in which researchers have taken 10 shoreline and i couldn't find the maximum threshold. @@TerraSpatial Hello, Thanks for your response. I succeed in making the operation with 9 shoreline. I think it is okay for more than 10 but it depends of the gap of each shoreline, and the buffer you do for the baseline.

Hi Quân Bảo Võ, I don't have any idea. Because in website the version 4.3 is mention compatible with arcgis 10.1, but it works in 10.3. You can give a try or can download the latest version 4.4 which is compatible in arcgis 10.5. Thanks for your valuable question.

@@TerraSpatial in Cast transect window... we fill the dsas geodatabase where we store the shoreline aur baseline shape file, then we give the name, and putting the parameters afterword i click on okay but one popup window come with that Alert dsas error is occured kindly reference dsas log_txt. which is in c drive... how can i resolve this issue please help

How do you get the shoreline from year 1990 to 2019. I just want to know what software do you use to get the data. Is it google map or landsat or google earth. And how you extract the shoreline from those software.
