I was looking at getting my first “more mature” fragrance, or at least thats what I had in my mind. Saw the Hermes line and smelled all the available ones at a local shop and every single one was a bit too harsh for my liking except for the parfum. It still had that very signature note for the Hermes fragrances but it was much more balanced so I ended up getting that one and loving it!

Dirty is not proper word but people meant "earthy" when they use word "dirty" for a scent. TDH certainly has a heavy earthy note similar to smell of ground soil when it becomes wet by the rain mostly the first one of the season. And it smells amazing.

Beautiful Description man. I think TDH is a fragrance you either love or hate when you first smell it. Some people told me it has grown on them over time and they now appreciate the earthy quality. I really want to try out Narciso Rodriguez For Him , because I’ve heard it has a similar feeling to it.

I own the EDT and I got t slowly fond of it but I wouldn't say it's a four seasons fragrance. In essence my personal vantage point it that it performs great in Spring and Fall,neither in a cold nor in a hot climate.A superb fragrance on most occasions though.A must have for over 30 imho.

Agree with you in many points . I see it as a year round fragrances if you work indoors it’s great also in summer and in winter . A really sophisticated smell that still has that playful edge to it , love it 👌

Have owned the edt and vetiver version. The edt is all I will ever need from this line. Usually, I always go with the edp of most frags. This edt is simply magic. Like a more refined version of oscar de la renta "gentleman".

I think the same way when it comes to Terre de Hermes EDT. It is a masterpiece on its own and when it comes to longevity and projection it performs just outstanding for an EDT and I never want to miss it again in my collection:)

I love both the EDT and the Intense Vetiver version and it's hard to decide which one I prefer. The biggest problem with the Intense Vetiver is that the deep dry down is too chemical with too much ambroxan or whatever that compound is.

EDT is lighter, more playful and fresh. It has excellent performance, being both a great projector and long lasting. The first hour or so is pretty near beast mode. The Parfum is far deeper, richer and heavier, with a more mature and masculine feel about it. The performance is very good in terms of longevity, with projection being a foot or two of scent bubble. I like that you get the occasional waft of this scent hit you hours and hours after initial application. Buy whichever one best suits your particular needs.

I own both and prefer the EDT for its pepper and patchouli. The EDT has more character but the parfum is probably less challenging for those who are put off by the peppery sharpness.

Good comparison of both versions . The more I wear the Parfum now in the winter time the more I’m sure that i like the EDT more overall. I just enjoy this slightly edgy pepper note in the opening , it gives the fragrance a unique touch 😊👍

I was looking for a fragrance for my boyfriend for Valentine's Day. I tested Terre EDT and 1 Million by Paco Robanne. At first i wasn't sure about Terre freshley sprayed, but after few minutes when it settled..it was MAGIC 🥰 so classy and sophisticated. I couldn't help taking long inhales of the tester 😅 I did not get the same reaction with 1 Million (in fact didn't like this one)

I was debating which to get. I absolutely love Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence. So as I was out and about, I came across the Terre D'Hermes Parfum. I had to add it to the collection. The EDT was nice as well, but had to have the Parfum first.

Beautiful Choice man. I love the terre de Hermes line in general, because I think the flankers are not redundant they stand for themselves, without losing the TDH DNA. Hope you enjoy wearing the Parfum now in the winter time. I personally can’t stop wearing it 😉

I bought the EDT off of your and other reviews favoring it. However my batch number must be bad. I get lemon/orange but no pepper? I also get really weak sillage. As in I can barely smell it on me. I have to apply like 6+ sprays to even get a notice.

Hey my friend, I’m really sorry to hear that, but I can’t see why your bottle should be bad . Have you checked the batch code of your bottle online to see if it’s legit . Hermes is known for great quality so i can’t see it being legit

Great review thanks, i’ve been regretting not buying this in Fuerteventura as it was mega cheap last year, anyway I was wondering if there was a massive difference between the Edt and the vapo in the protected bottle/ travel one. I was given a full sized bottle of the EDT a few years ago and every few months I take it out and spray it on the back of my hand. I always get a mandarin type of note and I keep trying to give it a chance to like it but I have to give up on this one. Excellent review and comparison!

It’s absolutely great for summer and late spring , it’s ice cold and different to the other terre de Hermes flankers without loosing the dna too much. I can highly recommend you trying it out :)

What's the size of the bottles you have?

The EDT is a 50 ml Bottle ( that is now nearly empty ) and the Parfum is a 75 ml Bottle and i think that is the smallest size you can get. The EDT is available in 30,50 and 100 ml ☺

I received my TdH today. I was expecting to smell the orange/grapefruit. What I got was something rather sharp (spicy and peppery), and cheap smelling, almost like a bug repellent. After a couple of minutes, I began smelling something more pleasant, but that was only after I got my nose very close to my shirt. Naturally, I thought I got a fake. Luckily, I had also ordered a sample of the the pure perfum version. It smelled a bit different, but still had all of the same characteristics I described above. This is very strange.

Thank you for sharing you opinion. I think terre de Hermes is a scent that you either like or hate. I get a lot of orange and woods when I wear it. I hope you still give it a try and some wearings because I think the real beauty of TDH is the wearing experience and when you leave a trail.

Terre D'Hermes is one of those fragrances that only work its magic in the silage. You don't understand it up close. Plus it has been reformulated a few times. The 2023 version is not the same as the pre-IFRA 2011 original version. I have both. It used to have 55% Iso E Super for example. If you want to come closer to the original batch you make a decant with 8.5 ml of perfume and 1.5 ml of Iso E Super. Still not the same though.

It's not even close. I have the original batch of the EDT (pre 2011) and it's a masterpiece. The Parfum is too one-dimensional and flat.

The eu de perfume smells like leather and orange peel when I wear it. It only last 3-4 hours. I wear it but not sure I like it. It also stays close to the skin or clothing as it does not project too far. For me, I’d give it a 6-6.5. Maybe I’m not a fan but it’s a near miss for me. Edit: More leathery than anything else.

I used to prefer the edt but now I prefer the pure parfum due the the edt getting weaker from reformulating over the years. I tend to like to wear these on a rainy day .
