@Michael Jurek How? 47 year old T.O. ain't beating nobody deep. You think he's outrunning 22/23 year old DB'S? I could see him as a short yardage possession receiver but you have to be durable to play that role. I don't see T.O.sacrificing his body at league minimum salary just to get a 3 yard first down. His ego won't allow him to be anything but the superstar.
@jtremaine233 жыл бұрын
Agree and disagree. Some athletes are faster and more skilled now but we still haven't seen a running back like Barry Sanders or Bo Jackson or a DB like Prime Time. Jerry Rice wasn't the fastest or tallest but he actually caught more 50+ yard TDs than Randy Moss and pretty much every WR playing today. And they pass more now than ever but his work ethic was 2nd to none.

I believe the Patriots in 2011 should have looked to sign T.O instead of getting a washed up Chad Ochocinco who had lost his quickness and just was not the same. He did not have the work ethic of T.O and got washed up quick. The 2011 Patriots were very close to winning it anyway despite Ochocincos lack of contribution. With T.O they might have beaten the Giants. They had Gronk, A. Hernandez , Welker, Edelman and Deion Branch. They decided to Add Ochocinco. T.O would have done way more there. I legit 100% think they would have won that one with T.O. The leadership was strong in that locker room that I believe T.O would have bought in. He had still some left. I believe he had 2 more years left than what he actually ended up playing. The team must have a strong leader at QB and HC. Patriots had that in Brady and Belichick. Cowboys did not. Romo was a loof and The coach was a no show. it was always Jerrys show and he ran things. In the 90s they had a leader in QB and HC before Jimmy got fired.

What does a team gain from hiring a 50 year old WR? You're not going across the middle at 47.... and I don't blame you. Little things like that have to be taken into consideration. There can be no limitations on what you are willing to sacrifice in the sport of football....the second you have to second guess if you can absorb certain contact you gotta go because there are literally 100s of younger player's who don't have those insecurities.
