Being a doctor or an attorney or college graduate it ALWAYS matters where you graduated. Some firms for law won’t even take your resume unless you graduated top 15% or top 10% of your class. Doctors are the same when doctors extend their practices and want to add a new Person. It always matters where you stand and what level you are. I am five years removed from LAW School and it still matters what accolades I have and that factors in w my work experience.

To me, Ryan Hollins is that confrontational black man that every corporation has that makes the other black men in that office facepalm. That same black man in every corporation that angrily cuts everyone off in the board meetings. I facepalmed while watching him in this video the same way I facepalm in our weekly meetings at work.

T. O. made a calculated wrong decision on this one. He will regret it one day and realized his decision was made on emotions. He could of made his speech directly, to all the detractors. This ceremony involved other, great men and he selfishly; ignored this. He was raised by a single mother and this is the outcome of not having a daddy to raise this boy..youngman...Man. If you mean Ray Guy he was veterans committee selection and 100% deserved. He literally WON GAMES for the Raiders, can you name another punter with that level of impact. The real disrespect was voting in borderline guys like Kurt Warner and Terrell Davis and voting Jason Taylor first ballot while leaving T.O. off .

I think Terrell Owens should have gone to the ceremony and do what Michael Jordan did on his NBA Hall of Fame, be transparent and don't care what anyone says
@djairjamaica16 жыл бұрын
1st off, welcome back COJ144. I understand what you are saying about him showing up to the HOF, but regardless if he would have given the speech in Canton; the media would have spun whatever he said to fit the narrative that they want, and they would benefit from it. Benefit by more viewers tuning in, or showing up at the ceremony. I think what he did was to follow your advice, and be self defined and self validated. Showing that he doesn't need their approval. I don't think that you can separate the voters from the HOF. The HOF accepts whatever the writers say, and that makes them complicit. In what world was Jason Taylor a more impactful player than Terrell Owens that he gets in the HOF before he does; much less 1st ballot? That being the case he has his own ceremony which had more buzz than the Canton ceremony; as well as his speech being more impactful than anything these other dudes said in their speech. That being said he is finally doing things on his own terms, and not looking for validation from the powers that be; more so rubbing it in their face.

Very interesting perspective. But I still think that if Randy Moss doesn't get in on the 1st ballot, TO shows up, even though he believes he should've been in on 1st ballot. Both receivers were not Sunday School material in the locker room, Moss had far more off field issues, they're statistically comparable, neither won a Super Bowl, so TO feels slighted. What I don't like is the lack of consistency from the writers. Marvin Harrison was Sunday School in the locker room, had amazing stats, longevity, won a Super Bowl, yet he also only got in on 3rd ballot. Isaac Bruce is a squeaky clean minister, had the peak + longevity, won a Super Bowl, yet he's still not in. Steve Largent never won a Super Bowl, yet he was 1st ballot. Michael Irvin played the same style as TO, was more of a team-player, won 3 freaking Super Bowls, and it took him to the 3rd ballot.

What if he took the stage at the official hof ceremony and had a mental/emotional break down? Sometimes direct confrontation can cause great angst and lead to catastrophe especially if you are not a shrewd and calculated person. Understanding his own fragilities I believe he wanted some distance and it was probably a good decision.

Wonder why him & Irvin fell out b/c they seemed to be on good terms before...I can relate to Terrell's actions having grown up with a certain outlook on life & people, especially being an underdog coming out of "nowhere". People still stuck on insisting that EVERYBODY conform to other's standards instead of their own way. Who cares why he didn't show? Let him be & be rcognized at his alma mater where his journey to the nfl began in front of his supporters. the nfl wanted to penalize him again by not mentioning him at the ceremony & had lakeys chime in like Parker, Ginobili & Gay did to Kawhi on the Spurs! Haters need to GET OVER IT...Amazing that COJ would agree with the corporation policy & standards of the illuminati no fun league. Black people sure are curious with their adopted ideas while being subjugated, btw, the writers are a part of the hof if indirectly. It's disgusting when slaves try to keep other slaves in check b/c of the slavemaster's conditioning process.

I hear you brother but I don't believe that is speech at the hall of fame directed towards the process would have changed anything in the way that people View because you cannot control people if it is your goal to get them to see things your way sometimes you have to be righteous and being righteous isn't always pretty it isn't always convenient I tell you what now that he did whether or not they do it again to someone else I bet they will think twice about it I do not think that is speech would have the same impact now is Terrell Owens the same but he is also doing this for other players and not being honest about the fact that he's doing it for the way he feels then I agree it is childish but if he admits that he's doing it for himself and the way he feels I have absolutely no problem with it because for some people the easier path would be to do what they feel the harder path for some people would be to play ball

I have to disagree that Moss was in just as much team negativity. That’s not what teammates say about him. The media has dogged Moss on several occasions spinning his words. Every teammate of Moss I’ve heard says Moss was a leader and an excellent teammate. TO was bashing QB’s, arguing with coaches and causing all kinds of drama within the team. But everything else was spot on. I agree, TO should have showed up and told them to their face. Yes, TO should have been a first ballot HOF based on stats alone but as we know that’s not all they look at. It isn’t fair imo but it is what it is.
