Terrestrial Orchids in the Landscape | Potting Ground Orchids | How to Repot Orchids from Landscape

In this video I'm starting the prep for transferring some terrestrial (ground) orchids from either their original nursery pot or from my landscape. I don't think the terrestrial orchids appreciate my clay soil, and over the years, the light conditions have changed from when I originally planted them. Time to try a change so water, light, and feed can be more controlled to better suit these 'dirt' orchids!

Where did you get the Bletia from? Also, how does the Phaius handle winter temps?

One was from a botanical garden plant sale, the other was from my local plant nursery. They will freeze back, but have always come back in the spring. We have come close, but no freezing yet this winter. Thanks for watching!

@@SVKLOrchids Southeast Texas - subtropical climate here, usually. They all survived a 2 day drop to 9 degrees F last year - which was a very severe winter episode for us.
