Terrible Showing for the Men of Summer House (Summer House Full Recap)

What's up Bros? We are back with Summer House and lets just say... the dudes in the house had a rough showing. And that's putting it lightly. We get the conclusion of the conversation between Lindsay and Carl and it still is apparent that Carl is holding back. Even more apparent when he goes to Kyle and frames the conversation in a much different light than the convo we watched. Jesse is nervous because he found another lump just a week before he's supposed to go in for his 5 year cancer screening. Carl and Lindsay have another conversation about Carl's career prospects and Lindsay is very supportive during the convo but just has some questions regarding whether Loverboy is the right fit. Seems perfectly logical to us considering the tension that it caused in Kyle and Carl's relationship previously... Carl spins it as though she is unsupportive and always questioning him. She goes as far to say "can I take something off your plate for you" to help ease his stress. It was a difficult conversation to watch and Lindsay gets upset and rightfully so. Ciara and Jesse clear the air about the trash bag comment. We end the episode with a horrendous showing from Kyle when Amanda brings up the prospect of pursuing her own thing. Despite supporting Kyle and Loverboy for YEARS, Kyle shuts down all of Amanda's hopes and dreams saying that his stuff is more important. He even calls her aspirations a 'passion project'. As previously stated, this was a terrible showing for the boys. We will see how the rest of this season transpires but as of right now we are firmly Team Ladies in the Summer House.

The Amanda/Kyle storyline honestly feels like they’re just producing a storyline for next season where Amanda launches LoverGirl swimsuits and they get the promo. This whole show has always been a Loverboy commercial and this can add to their portfolio and they can do flashbacks to Kyle acting like a baby and it can be his redemption story for helping her with her dream. Still love the show but come on.

I think Carls’s meeting after Barry’s didn’t go well and the guy said he had nothing for him and Carl was just trying to save face saying none of the options were the right fit. That’s why he was in such a foul mood when he got back and then took it out on Lindsey. I think Shooter has 1000% got the read on Carl right! He’s so fucked because she’s not kicking off and instead is being supportive.

Is he afraid to break up with her, look relationships are hard and breakups are harder. I think it takes a lot of strength in one’s self to breakup with someone for not doing something wrong, but because you aren’t good together its very hard for people to do and usually people go about it in the wrong ways. I don’t mean to be mean, but with bravo we are always talking about people being manipulated and setting things up…I don’t think these people are that smart.

I think Ciara is waiting for West to sit her down and ask her out. She does not want to bring it up. West is waiting for Ciara to open up. But this could all be moot because IMO West doesn’t seem like he is truly looking for anything serious. He is young and a breakout hit on this show. Him and Jesse are besties and single and ready to mingle in NYC lol. I think if Ciara finally sleeps with him and shows some vulnerability, it’ll probably be a situationship until she ultimately presses the issue. So yea, I was hopeful in the beginning but after all these episodes and West openly talking about their non sex life I got the ick and so if this goes nowhere I would not be surprised.

I understand why people are criticizing Carl's communication skills and sincerity. But someone please tell me... how would you tackle telling Lindsay that you want to cancel the wedding and break up while filming a reality show and the clock is ticking closer and closer to the wedding day? Yeah, I heard they wanted Sam, but when they fired Kory (and they were still together) that she kind of decided not to come back in solidarity with him. I think they would have had her on if she wanted on. Most people loved her. Shame she stunted her career opportunities for a man-child. Hopefully she knows better now.

Yes to HOD, please. People might be giving Carl too much credit. Either he's a master manipulator or he's afraid of confrontation, more sensitive than he appears, and trips over himself (Keep in mind people shouldn't date early after sobriety let alone get married. So they say). Lindsey had every right to ask those questions. However, because Carl is sensitive and probably feels insecure about his job situation- He got defensive about that. A two ships in the night type stuff. Long story short I agree with Jessi on this

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't think Carl is a gaslighter. I've been in a relationship where I was questioned about a lot by a controlling partner and in those situations, when your partner questions you about everything you constantly feel like you can't do anything right (probably part of why he doesn't have a job yet). Just because she's being calm doesn't mean she's being supportive. When she's asking if she can take anything off his plate, Carl laughed because she's the one putting stress on his plate. I can read Carl so well and I feel like I'm on an island.

Kyle started in on Lindsay last season episode 1, saying she was in Carl's ear and was upset his relationship with Carl was different. I think Carl knew going into the season he was going to end the engagement so he talked shit about Lindsay behind her back, had cameras at his parents home. I believe Carl thought the viewers would side with him go against Lindsay and the viewers would call for Lindsay to not come back. He tried playing the I'm a victim. He wanted to ensure his bravo paycheck for next season without Lindsay. Didn't work, Carl looked manipulative and conniving.

I think Carl still very much wanted to marry Lindsay. Right up until the end. You can see it in how he reacts. He loves her and is afraid to disappoint her. He also doesn’t want the two most important women in his life to be at odds. Totally fair. But they weren’t the right fit for each other. It had to end.

I think what i see from Kyle is that he does a lot of work and expects others to do so as well. On the after show, he lets it out that the COO asks why Amanda is taking a salary. It would. Be interesting to know what deliverables are not being met by Amanda. Stuff we will never know. But it does sound like some stuff does not. Get done.

FYI, Ciara called West her boyfriend a number of episodes ago when she and Jesse were in her room. Jesse nearly choked. 😄 Gabby is also UNSUNG because without Gabby, it is unlikely that the women would be getting along as much and there's "caption-gate". There is a belief that West was in fact sleeping with other women (his right) but the show edited out his admission which is why his talking head portion seemed chaotic and "off".

I think Carl knew he didn’t want to go through with the wedding but he’s one of those people who hates hurting someone so he’s trying to get everyone else to help him do it. Or he’s hoping Lindsay says she’s out. With Kyle and Amanda, as someone who has owned a business it’s not the right time for Amanda to start something else. If he had said I totally support your dream but can you put it on hold for another year until we’re in a better financial position. They don’t have money to pour into another start up and it’s very expensive. She also wants to have a family and she can’t do that and start a new business right now. Down the line, sure
