I was impressed that the subway is extremely crowded and people don't even speak 1 "A" and not to mention that everyone has their faces on their cell phones 😂
@651321ification2 жыл бұрын
Guangzhou Metro Line 3 is the most failed subway line in the Guangzhou Metro. When this line was planned, the Tianhe District was not developed at that time, so it was basically a state of wilderness. At that time, the Guangzhou Municipal Government believed that the future development of Tianhe District would not be so fast. In addition, the government believed that the "small group, high-density" subway operation mode was better for a long time, so it seriously underestimated the future use of Line 3. Therefore, the B-type train was selected in terms of vehicle type. The biggest feature of the B-type train is that it has a relatively small capacity compared to another A-type train in China (in China's subway trains, each B-type train can carry about 250 passengers, while the A-type train is about 310 passengers). Therefore, such a failed planning led to the large-scale development of Tianhe District, the daily passenger capacity of Line 3 reached 120%, far exceeding the design capacity. The same example is Guangzhou Metro Line 6.
How anout Tokyo where passengers have to shoved into the cars?

I've ridden this line in the past year, and attest that staff and queue managers in 珠江新城站 are doing their best with such an underbuilt transfer center. 體育西路站 seems properly built-up, featuring a Spanish solution double platform. The under-construction subway lines to relieve line 3 can't come soon enough. Line 3 has been overtasked for over 10 years now, connecting to so many lines, being the only north-south spine, being the main airport train. Building bus lanes for existing north-south express+rapid buses would help too but china seems to have given up on BRT, even as a complement to rail transit and as improvement to existing busses

By brings back memories for me. I'm an "old man" now in "half retirement" but I used to ride a metro every day in the late 1980s and 1990s and most of the 2000s and the metro I rode was under the control of a totally incompetent "public agency" so the trains did not operate at anything called "frequency" AT THE HEIGHT OF RUSH HOUR......* When I moved my residence in the middling/latter 2000s, I changed from riding trains to the busiest bus line using "articulated" buses. But nothing changed as that bus line also happened to be the busiest of the city so even though I would catch that bus at the beginning of it's departure point, by the time it came to my stop, the coach would be so packed that I had no choice but SHOVE MYSELF INTO THE BUS.......*

No thanks is still correct.
