Thanks so much for the tutorial - I'm a very new beginner to 3D printing, but was able to use your methods to create a 3D Articulated "tile" name tag for my deaf Granddaughter. I used cubes to the same measurements as in the video, and then on the top side, added the letters of her name in Auslan fingerspelling, and then on the underside, added the corresponding english text - it works really well - so cool! Defintely subscribing :)

Super cool @KoalaLou2QT4U! Love to hear it when there is a success. 👏💯 There are some letters that are tricky. I made a 2nd video... if you get stuck let me know.

Wow, love the idea! Seems like it'd be a solid print, great work on this!

Thank you. I am anxious to use them in the classroom. Usually after I do that I end up making a V2 of the vid as I see where the kiddos struggle. So far mine have been printing great.

You’re my favorite 3D KZbinr! Always great information presented in an easy to understand way. Thanks! Any chance you’d make a tutorial showing how to create a band in three sections? I need to make a ring approximately 320mm in diameter, which is too large for my build plate. I would need to build it in three sections, each the same size adding up to exactly 320mm. It would need some king of way to snap them together like a puzzle. Just trying to glue them together isn’t strong enough (It needs to be somewhat structural). Therefore the ring would need to have some thickness to it. Maybe 8mm X 5mm. Or 7mm X 7mm. Something along those lines. Only the ring diameter measurement is crucial.

I saw this design for snapping two pieces together by Richgain called Lockblock - printable connector. KZbin won’t allow me to add a link.

Thank you so much!!!! Can you pls tell how can we use curvy letters for making articulated keychain. And how can we make a box which can be opened and closed.
@HLModTech10 ай бұрын
I do not have a curvy letter vid... Bringing in the letters one a time would be a bit time consuming... If you did not mind that step, here is how to get curvy letters into Tinkercad. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2K6g4ZmeNyVf5o That Canva trick... just one letter of your word at a time.

Thanks @craftingwithjean5599 for the note! 👍 Make sure you check out the bonus video... There are some letters that did not fit the pattern. I also found telling a classroom to stick to initials was smart. Too many letters resulted in more opportunities for mistakes.

i'm very new to tinkercad... my letter doesn't snap into place when sizing the side. it gets squished. any help would be much appreciated
@HLModTech3 жыл бұрын
It’ll only snap if you hold shift when you drag a corner. Then type the number in the box.

This is my first project and I really shouldn't have tried it, I've been trying this for 2 days now LOL. I did perfect up until the egg shapes were to go onto the cylinder. LOL!

Sorry about that. I have a ton of projects that are better for day one users. Do you have access to a 3D printer?

@@HLModTech yes, we just bought one. I need to learn the basics first, I think. Wow, you do have a lot, I will start with the basics ;)

Hi mike, great instruction video. I just started trying to learn tinkercad. my niece keeps asking me to 3D print her name so i can install LED lights in her name so it lights up. Have you ever made anything like that?
@HLModTech2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Manny. I have not made a name with lights in it. Are you thinking to print it white and having a LED in each letter? Do you play with Ardino's or anything?

Haha I thought, ‘hey this looks easy enough’ …. An hour later I’m moving on to one of your simpler name keychains. I will come back to this another time though 😅 I’m halfway through the name ‘ZIDANE’

I have noticed that different names have different stress levels. Please feel free to share feedback. Some of the coolest stuff I create is on V2 or V3... Learning what does and does not make sense to users is priceless.
