I wonder if Art might be their father, who had been slowly getting possessed. I wonder if the girl is maybe the spirit or being that is connected to Art. Add in how the father was said to be mentally ill, and had moments when he would get violent with even his daughter, before dying in a wreck (maybe attempting to stop art, but this causes art to take full control of his body). I also think that the demonic head we see in the picture/drawing being held is the actual look the demon possessing art has, which their father might have been privy to, but also if you look at both art an the clown girl they have a semi-similar design look to it.

@RussianPrimeMinister
@RussianPrimeMinister Жыл бұрын
I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but there's an old horror movie called "Funnyman". Basic premise, a sort of jester-style house demon kills an entire family. The reason I bring it up is because every single kill scene is a long and drawn out dry joke, quite surreal and amusing. They show him dancing, enjoying himself, hosing a van down with piss, and enjoying some art work while chatting nonchalantly with the mom. Then suddenly and out of nowhere, he murders them in an entirely normal and mundane way. Five minute build up, then he hits her with a club and she dies. Funniest shit I've ever seen, but you have to have a particular sense of humor.

I know people get frustrated with a lack of story with the first 2, but I actually love what Damien Leone has been doing here. He has been leaning on his strengths related to practical effects and establishing Art as iconic. These elements ensure he can keep making installments, and instead of giving everything away in the first film or 2, he is slowly but surely filling things in. It's like the "hollup let him cook" meme but in a film franchise.

@DunnageGoblin

The theory should be applied to what could be established. Art is pure evil, seemingly likes to torture. Some superstitions believe evil can give you tumors. Maybe the dad is soo weak, he can only suggest a thought, and attempt one that doesn't arouse the evil's suspicion. Maybe his father suggests art kills the kid because "it would be funny." Art has a history of lacking physical self preservation. Maybe he spreads his evil faster by scarring people, and building negative thoughts.

Well if you think of it, 3 movies actually explained a lot with Art The Clown backstory: All Hallows' Eve: he is OP because he has the demon cult on his side --> explain why he can be ressurected and being a demon clown Terrifier: pretty much demonstrate his over the top killing spree and granted, he's one of the rare slasher guy who actually used gun to kill Terriefier 2: Art The Clown is not really OP, he can be easily to be killed by "an angel" (Sienna), but the best way to bring him back is to have someone related to him to get pregnant with him to be reborned again (Victoria)

Maybe the suspense was done in a more unsettling way in the first - the weird stranger danger vibes all throughout the first half. With this, it’s very cool special effects but you can really watch a 15 minute reel of Art acting funny and doing his thing and be done with it instead of engaging with this thing for two hours lol. It was giving me Dream Child/Freddy’s Dead and it’s only the second movie lol. So I’m guessing all of the loose ends will be tied up in a sequel that comes out in eight years?

The guy that plays Art is so genuinely good at the mime-esque silence routine that it makes these movies for me to be perfectly honest. Also, I hate to do this, but OCD forces my hand: That blade is a dirk, not a sword. To be fair, it's considered not short enough to be a knife or dagger, so it's often thought of as in between a dagger and a sword, so I can understand the misconception for those who may not be familiar with the various terms assigned to one blade versus another.

So a friend of mine asked if I wanted to see a movie with her. It was $7 Tuesdays so I’m like “sure”. Little afterwork hangout, let’s do it. Turned out to be this movie. I’d never heard of it and never saw the first one… I couldn’t finish my fries 😐

I love the second movie just as much as I love the first. I love how this guy unapologetically made the movie that he wanted to see. I know this dude when making the movie knew he wasn't going to win Oscars And win everybody over. He broke rules and he didn't care and I respect that this movie was pure art in my opinion. Every little detail wasn't explained and that's perfectly okay with me. A brilliant movie I don't care if they end up making a bunch of movies going on with this character like they do all the other big-time slashers

Possible nuclear take: I preferred when Art was killing random people just because they were there. His background being vague left the details up to the imagination, something the audience could speculate and debate. The whole magic sword wielding hero born to defeat the Big Bad is so hokey and overdone. Art is a very strong character who doesn't need a grand story to work. I think Damien should return to the minimalistic stories of the first films and let the audience speculate.

ok fair but literally the entire terrifier series always had supernatural elements in it, even before the first movie he has glowing eyes, he can teleport himself places, and he crosses from inside the tv into the real world to attack his victims. the first actual movie sorta suggests to more supernatural things and the creator says the clown has some curse that keeps his victims alive during the attack

What if ART is held in bound by rules of stories and ART. Their father found this out and created a story/concept art sketch that imbued his children with invulnerablilty and a way to get rid of ART via the sword. Unfortunately he couldn't save himself or his wife maybe.

To be honest I was let down by Terrifier 2 and I probably prefer the first Terrifier just for being more suspenseful even though Terrifier 2 is a better film and every other possible aspect. Terrifier 2 is so obvious, there was no real suspense, because you was just waiting for the moment when Sienna will kill Art with the magical sword. But the shop scene with Art and Sienna is probably the best scene among all three movies with Art the Clown.

@@han-df9mw i didn't say that the first Terrifier was suspenseful. I just said that the second one was more suspenseful than the second. The first one had at least the balls to kill the the obvious final girl and the second final girl lost and her faith is probably harder than death. While in the second one it is obvious that the siblings will survive. I hate films in which you know who is going to live from the beginning. First Alien is so great because you didn't know who, if anybody will survive.

@@Pewpewpew182 To be honest I did not say I like the first film, I am just more firgiving taking into consideration it's budget. Don't forget that no two great stories are told exactly the same. Just because there isn't a lot of lore and world-building in a piece of media doesn't mean there isn't a story. The story of Terrifier was a simple, but effective, one: the story of three girls and their fateful encounter with a killer clown. It might not be the most thought-provoking narrative, but it's effective. With horror, simplicity usually builds mystery, which furthers intrigue. I think it made more sense that they chose to create interesting and likable characters that evolve over the course of the film. If they'd tried to come up with some deep story, then they could've easily made a boring horror movie with two basic kills and scenes of the characters searching the local library for answers. The film was creative, interesting, visually appealing, and genuinely terrifying. The second film, I honestly feel relied a bit too much on the gore. The original had me shaking, the sequel had me puking. I wasn't scared for a second during the second film, though I was grossed out and entertained.

Halloween rule # 1 if your in a costume, you get candy! (The only time people don’t give candy to grownups, is when they worried about running out of candy for the kids) Rule #2 when costume clubbing, don’t wear cumbersome props that get in the way. Those angel wings are super annoying in this environment.

My theory is that Art is Sien's dad but not the brother's father that's why he targeted them and had many chances to kill Siena but didn't. Still, he tried to t@%ture the brother and killed the mother fast just because he was angry at her but deep down he still loved her ... at the beginning of the first movie we see that Art's skin is burned and we know the father was crazy and died in a fire; I think after that he lost some of his memory until the demon girl brought some of it back.

There’s a lot of this movie that we didn’t need at all. The most brutal thing about this flick was the runtime and I felt every minute of it. Everything just went on and on, wonky dialogue, poor acting, over the top mom this movie has it all. It’s like nothing was cut, they filmed everything and threw it all in there.
