A bit of tactical advice from an Army SOF guy. If Peter installs a fogger, his security guys won't be able to see, accurately discern, and safely engage targets. If anything, it will mask the robbers and make an already chaotic situation worse. His security personnel should be using thermal goggles to pierce through the fog. Night vision will not pierce the fog, whereas thermal will. Alternatively, he can get rid of the fog machine entirely because it's counterproductive. Also, I would recommend giving your guy a shorter-barreled AR with a suppressor and a weapon-mounted flashlight. I have done a lot of CQB in my time, and shooting a rifle indoors unsuppressed can be deafening, which is just as bad for the good guys as it is for the bad guys. There's a reason all the high-speed military units use suppressors, and it's not to look cool.

Retail price and they sell mostly unique or antique pieces, so the price is way more independent of the the value of the material. That's what makes the incident so crazy, because the material value after it got melted might be only a fraction of the 9 million

It was a smash and grab. They need to get over themselves and realise that this really is nothing. The goods are insured, they only wanted what was in the window display, and ran away as soon as they got their hands on anything. The only "terrible" part about this is historic pieces probably getting destroyed to be sold for pennies on the dollar. Significantly worse happens literally every other minute (And a person was murdered every four hours in just California in 2020). A single smash and grab shaking a whole community for well over a month is more a testament to how sheltered and catered to these people are every second of every day. So much so that they don't feel comfortable without 24/7 police presence and security armed with assault rifles in every store
