Our ring doorbell has caught the same 2 guys creeping around our cars in the middle of the night many times. They completely covered up but it’s the same guys same movements same builds. Our neighborhood has the app where we post and warn each other of things that go on we’re able to upload the footage and keep each other aware and updated. It is scary seeing it but it makes me feel safer knowing everyone looking out for one another . It’s important to know our neighbors in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with gated communites, but they don't guarantee safety. That only stops unwanted VEHICLES from coming in (and barely due to tailgaters). Somebody on foot could jump/slide through the barrier. Heck, it could even be an inside job from your own gated community. Living in a nice house/area doesn't automatically mean your neighbors are upstanding citizens. I say all that to say, just be alert, regardless where you end up living. That gun collection idea on the other hand, solid plan if you get proper training 🙂

I’m so happy that we bought a ring camera. Now i check the camera before answering the door and if i don’t recognize the person, i question them before i even head to the door. If it’s a delivery person, they can leave the package and I’ll pick it up.
