No way did I think the secondary would be top 5 in the league, full stop. The amount of dynamic complimentary pairs the Lions are rolling out is something I've never seen in the league before. Branch-Joseph, Gibbs-Montgomery, St. Brown-Williams: All of them are playing at All Pro levels. Davis III-Arnold are a year or two away from joining that list. I'm so happy with this team, enjoying every second. Thank you Coach for enhancing this enjoyment multiple times a week.

I echo Aonjmj. I'd add PFF has a place but it pales in comparison to insight you provide. I watch you thinking it's giving insight into what Brad Holmes is thinking about in the draft review room. Also what players likely get to see as coaching during the week.

I watched some technical videos of Sauce showing his press-man technique and he does it so much better at getting the hands on correctly and make the WR react and when he doesn't do it perfect he also, better than Arnold, most often, properly turned the WR to the side line. I agree 101% with you. Maybe he should just sit back and use his tracking and ability to saddle himself to the hip.

The secondary has far out performed anything I thought they would be able to accomplish. Hats off to the Defensive coaching staff for developing these guys and putting in the schemes that fit the personnel. Aaron Glen has been showing a master class in defensive coaching.

The secondary was improved but questionable coming into the 2025. LB was thought to experienced but we had no idea about Barnes breaking out with D Line looked at as the strength of the D. The D unit and the coach are working as one. Hoping they can keep it rolling.

Lions fans are wrong as most football fans are. Terrion is a converted safety learning to play corner. This team allows its young players to develop at their pace. It’s really that simple. No need to over complicate it.

I'm not wrong I've thought he's looked absolutely fine for a rookie CB learning to play the position the penalties are to be expected especially since they've been calling them like crazy this year
@helmedon21 сағат бұрын
I think he has been OK. He's looking like a rookie. CD3, Meek and the safeties cover for some coverage issues. I think coach is right that he's not comfortable playing with his back to the QB, as most of his life he's played safety. I think Rakestraw is much better in man coverage but hasn't been able to show it much with how well the others are playing. The whole ain't broke, don't fix it. But I think with some of these WRs and QBs we've got coming up he's going to be exposed a little with inexperience and his panic when his back is to the ball. He needs to learn to get his head around.

Would I be wrong saying that Arnold is better in a zone/off man coverage because he played safety in high school? I've noticed he gets hit with stop routes and quick cuts inside. I thought Rakestraw was the better press man guy in college. Seemed really sticky in coverage and to me seems more fluid in his hips. I also wondered what was making the Lions put Vildor in for CD3 at times. I thought I read somewhere that scouts thought Arnold might be a better nickel or safety in the NFL.

Don’t watch college football so correct me if I’m wrong but from what I’ve heard when it comes to college , corners are a lot less scrutinized penalty-wise than when in the NFL? I honestly think it’s just a growing process learning not to be so touchy feely with receivers getting PI calls. I think he’s going to be awesome personally. Go lions!
