This is one of the great 'cozy mystery' films of its time. It began my love for brooding mysteries that take place in one location on rainy nights. (A niche genre, to be sure, but there ya go.) It probably breaks a record for Most Use of Stock Footage Train Shots in one movie.

10:30 Sunday nights was Sherlock Holmes Theater on WOR channel 9 in New York. Just me and my Dad for a glorious hour and a half watching these movies. I would have iced tea and make Jiffy Pop popcorn.

One of the best! I’ve been watching all the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock episodes. Some have been remastered beautifully which I am very grateful for because I first saw them in the 90s on vhs 📼 which had Terrible quality!

I always thought Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were fictional characters! Wow, they really did work together to solve cases! So glad Scotland Yard chose to make this theft public. Absolutely genius! He, Sherlock, makes "Ironside" look like a piker!
