TERROR TANK Vlog 7 ADDING MORE PIRANHA with Aggressive Tiger Barbs PLUS FEEDING

After a short survey video (30 minutes of air time) as to whether I should trade the three piranha I currently have for five new babies or five new jewel cichlids, there was a favorite of 12 viewers for new piranha and 6 for jewels.
So there you have it! The piranha vote won! As I went to the pet store, I couldn't believe that the piranha they were selling were roughly the same size as my current three so I snatched them up and brought them home!
My first piranha/tiger barb video contained 13 piranha and a handful of tiger barbs. This tank is completely the opposite and I think it will do good because of the flip flop numbers.
In this video, I will confuse the current residents by cleaning the aquarium, adding some new furniture, replacing 20 gallons of water and rearranging the setup.
A massive feeding will be done as my tiger barbs are ALWAYS hungry and look for something new to eat. So... to get their little minds off the new piranha, I had to feed them several items that will not only fill them up.... but wear them out as well.
I start by feeding a piece of ham then some brine shrimp and then some flake food. You will notice that the new piranha get in on these feedings as well which is a great sign that they are comfortable.
In the portion of the video where I am draining the water out of the aquarium, you will notice that I say, "OUCH!' at the very end. The reason for this is that one of the older piranha decided he was going to taste me by biting the back of my arm (the inside of my wrist). Yes.... a piranha bite. Thank God he was small. Just a little nick but no harm done! The last piranha bite I took was about 20 years ago on the knuckle and took several stitches to close it.

i have a dozen tiger barbs and call them my striped piranha. they voraciously group together and devour an entire cube of frozen bloodworms in mere minutes! need a bigger tank so i can have a school like this though.

so update..yes all the ghost shrimp are gone.. the blue lobster aka crayfish died once i planted the tank.. he started attacking multiple plants. an hour later his left claw is floating and detached.. so now the counts are 5- greenbarbs 6-regular barbs 2- nerita snails 2-assasin snails 2- gold mystery snails 7-platy in my 30 gallon..

generally I take the same steps- but in different order- acclimate fish while re arranging tank-feed fish and release new fish- then do water change. This way ou remove the large feeding waste, and water change obvioulsy draws attention away from newcomers. In my marine systems I always do the coral feeding before water changes for max nutrient export.

I'd say... comfortably.... 15-20. They don't get that big and are better in large groups if you want them to stay active

It's a type of mbuna cichlid from Lake Malawi. There are many different types. This one is an auratus cichlid. Bala sharks, pictus catfish, and a few other sharks/catfish would make really good tank mates, imo, as long as the tank is at least 70 gallons

One fish I've never owned was a Pacu. I've had many questions about whether these are Pacu or Piranha. Any expert will tell you that thees are piranha. Pacu are far less aggressive (which is why I've never owned them.
