So you accept a job making a wage that will help you eat and stay out of debt, but later you find out that your white coworkers doing the same work are making 5-10x what your making. That's life changing money. Yes, you can definitely be grateful for opportunities and also a conduit for change. There are those activists who make a lot of sacrifices for change and equality so that guys like Terry can eat. He may not be called to activism but when people like Taraji, Terrence and others make it possible for higher paying roles, he should sing their praises instead.

I agree 100%. The actors and their agents negotiate the terms and can walk away if they don't like it. If Hustle & Flow had flopped, we'd hear nothing about those 12 G's. Since they didn't have the foresight to ask for points on the backend, now it's framed as Terrence being underpaid instead of him and his team underestimating its earning potential.
