Two wrestling legends, both middle-aged and crazy....team up for their first (and only) shoot interview together! Terry Funk & The Raging Bull Manny Fernandez. These Texas outlaws have literally seen and done it all in wrestling.
Created/Produced by Title Match Network outside Baltimore in 2011.
Watch our full shoots on TitleMatchNetwo...
Terry Funk actually helped train and break in Manny Fernandez years ago, along with the likes of Dick Murdoch, Blackjack Mulligan and others. It was in 1979 that Manny Fernandez captured the Florida Heavyweight Championship and wrestled Terry Funk all over the state in several one-hour matches.

I met the Bull in a bar right about 2000 or so. I recognized him immediately the moment he walked in. No one one else knew who the fuck he was. I approached him and he was a complete gentleman. I began talking wrestling to him (his history to be exact) and he couldn't believe I knew so much about him.

What a class at West Texas State ! Legends galore in that class ! Im old enough to remember watching Wrestling from Amarillo every Saturday night and only lived 30 miles from Amarillo ! Saw Terry bodyslam Andre and fight Muhammad Ali ! We moved to Dallas in 79 and fell in love with World Class Wrestling and David Von Erich became my favorite

Manny F. Is short on Social Skills Timing & Self Awareness. That said, I don’t really blame him fully for that as I’m sure it’s not necessarily what he has set out to do for himself. Pretty much every Funk story was a classic and pretty much every one of those stories featured Manny mostly unintentionally attempting to derail & take over the convo before Terry was fully done. One example of many: Funk’s story of Himself & Dusty drinking too much on the road which necessitates the midget wrestler having to drive the last stretch. Manny barges into that story to tell a(n iffy) one of his own with a similar threesome of himself , Murdoch, and Little Tokyo & he does this when Terry is just shy of the payoff. Luckily Terry knows how to repel Manny & he finishes. Also luckily Manny definitely respects the hell out of Funk & so he knows how to take Funks cues. I’d imagine Manny doesn’t respect too many people like he does Funk or Harley etc & just tramples all over most peoples conversations. Manny is like a Bull in a China Shop in this regard & maybe THAT is where his wrestling moniker “Really” came from? Also Manny never successfully tells even one of his stories whether BS , mostly BS, or slightly BS as he can’t but help immediately incessantly giggling once he begins to even think of what he is going to say. I think Manny had some questionable parenting & never really got past a certain emotional age - he’s stuck there. It really would explain a lot if not all of his quirks. It’s not really his fault , but he would seem to be definitely a tough one to deal with socially. This shoot really is a testament to Funks outstanding social skills in how he is able to glide Manny around for an hour and 20 mins.
