In some interviews I've heard, Robert Plant reflects on those days and usually mentions how Terry 'was the best of all of us' or words to that effect. Great stuff.

As Oscar Wilde said : “ The only thing worth having is youth.” Terry ( and all the other big names like Jagger, McCartney, Plant, Winwood etc ) are talking about the sweet bird of youth that flew away many years ago. Their stories ( much captured on film ) is of a distant land of all our yesterdays. ‘ Those happy highways that I went, and cannot come again ‘ ( A E Houseman , ‘ A Shropshire Lad ‘ ) .

I understand it,unfortunately most people don’t want to give one their proper respect if they make light of themselves. It’s frustrating if you are really good and you say so and then it turns off a lot of people that just might have otherwise really dug you if one just didn’t brag at all about themselves. It’s almost like as soon as one brags about themselves people lose respect for you even if you’re really great.

I met Terry back around 1989 when he was recording an album. I didn't really know who he was at the time. We talked all the time. Even gave him a ride home one night as his ride couldn't make it. We listened to what I had on the radio and just talked about nothing all the way to his house. Wish I'd known who he was so I could have asked a few questions. Led Zeppelin is my favorite band!

After Terry turned down Jimmy Page for the New Yardbirds gig, he later turned down the lead singer role in Deep Purple after Evans quit that band. Terry could have been lead singer in either one of two of the great 79's bands.

everyone makes decisions that later we regret ,that's life anyway Terry made great music but he didn't know how to steal riffs like Jimmy and the boys , the first Zeppelin album and all of them afterwards were AMAZING and I don't care that they stole practically everything on those albums because they stole but made it better and I have some Terry Reid albums and no doubt he can sing but they don't hold up songwriting wise to Zeppelin or the Stones or Blind Faith , that said he has earned a place in rock history and seems like a very nice guy (but then again that could also explain why he didn't become bigger,it seems nice guys don't do well in rock music)
