*YUP!* Even makes it plausible to why he was convinced to help kreese back at cobra kai initially. He knows giving money around those other rich folks wasn't/wouldn't be as lasting an effect as empowering and leaving his impression on young karate students. They'd carry on their appreciation amd potentially teach others long after his death. Even his early conversations with kreese about how they should do things differently and get back to what their teaching was all about reemphasize leaving a legacy. Season 5 his public interactions are at charity events and/or about offering karate for free to disadvantaged kids. He even mentioned his students would receive a reduction in their fees when he brought in the other senseis.

I really liked the silver we had in the first seven episodes of season 4, and I truly think if Kreese wouldn't have triggered silver he would have been one of the best senseis. There are 3 things that can refute the “terminally ill Terry Silver theory”: 1) He has virtually no “ring rust” after a 35-year-sabbatical from karate. 2) Terry is 15 years older than Daniel and Johnny, and yet he still managed to beat each of these much younger “active karate practitioners” in a 1-on-1 fight. 3) Terry showed no signs of weakness or fatigue in his fight against Chozen. So, if Terry Silver is actually terminally ill, then he has a damn near “supernatural resistance” to the effects of his illness.

Not necessarily. My grandmother worked everyday, cleaning her own house to the point where it's spotless, walking all around her house cleaning and working, at 80 years old, up until the week before she passed. We never new that she was terminally ill or that she had stage 4 kidney cancer.

This HAS to be real. And now that I think on it, there was a moment that *even I* found peculiar in episode S05E10, when Silver (after defeating Chozen) is talking to Johnny, and right before he leaves to face Daniel, he has a little moment where he touches his chest in a sickly fashion. Another thing I noticed, is in episode 2, when Silver admits to Chozen (who is undercover) that he never had any children, all that he has is Cobra Kai. As far as I'm concerned, the writers are 100% hinting that Silver is either terminally ill or is suffering irreversible heart problems due to his excessive use of c0caine. And revenge. Terry wanted to be his own MAN and considered a warrior but ended up working for his dad instead after being taught cobra kai's No Honor/No Mercy mentality. he has exceptional qualities such as loyalty and intelligence..he was a loyal man to his father, his sensei, and his country as well as krees. I think he never adapted from his PTSD, was set up to fail in his pursuits of living a life of honor, integrity, and legacy since he was never been able to prove himself authentically. Great commentary and great comments from the community. I had always assumed that everything from the pills to the butler asking SIlver if he needed a doctor had to do with PTSD, as opposed to an ongoing physical illness. Even his cryptic comments on youth and mortality in Season 5 seemed like something an older man might typically say. What finally got me thinking about the possibility that Silver might be ill was that slight pause just after he returns to his house following the showdown with Chozen. He could merely have out of breath, but it still struck me as odd. Out of character for the indefatigable Terry we all know and love. It seemed like he might be dealing with something serious. Yeah I thought he might be sick too. The examples you give in your video plus him talking about youth and legacy lean into the dying theory. Him dying might also explain his extreme measures of doing whatever it takes. Kreese mentions when they first get back together how Terry is just looking to live his twilight years in pease until Kreese awakens his fighting spirit. After Terry reawakens his fight spirit it seems he really wants to do something impactful maybe because he's dying. I think the writers might also write him as dying so Terry gains our sympathy and to understand the villainous motivation which is a big thing Cobra Kai does look at Kreese. I felt no sympathy for Kreese and just looked at him as a villain till we saw those Vietnam flashbacks. Terry dying would be a way to make you feel bad for him even after all the bad things he's done and flesh him out as a character, not just as a villain.

I like how the end of the video sounded, Silver some how uses his remaining time in an act of redemption. Perhaps leaving the Cobra Kai franchise to Kreese who in turn hands it over to Johnny. All characters use what they have learned throughout the series and each teach their respective Dojo's amicably each with their own styles, but maybe a little bit borrowed from the the others. On a note of Silvers health, before Kreese came along, he was probably just living out his days with no purpose, what he was doing was putting on a smile and was getting nothing from it, getting back into Cobra Kai made him feel alive again, got him active, gave him purpose and probably improved his wellbeing and health to a certain degree, but it was not a cure. Perhaps his legacy to open Cobra Kai to the world was his way of making people feel stronger, feel alive, defeat anything in front of them. Unfortunately he tried it using his old ways, going back to his youth and his vision was completely lost by his own mistakes.

I think the simple reason terry lost to daniel was because he was already tired from fighting chozen. If you notice most of the movie terry doesnt actually fight. He hires people to fight for him. Terry is past his prime while daniel is still relatively young.. old people usually need regular doctor checkups it doesnt mean he is terminally ill. As far as we know he has a particular diet so he could have just ate some bad sushi or something lol.
@editzz_36412 жыл бұрын
I agree this terminally ill Theory is a bit dumb. Maybe he was there because his PTSD medication was done and he needed to pick up some more.And if you notice it silver was stable throughout the whole season 5 and not on his crazy act, indicating that he was taking some sort of medicine to calm down maybe it had just finished and he needed to pick up more? 🤔
@Scorch10282 жыл бұрын
There are 2 things that cause me to question the “terminally ill Terry Silver theory”: 1) He has virtually no “ring rust” after a 35-year-sabbatical from karate. 2) Terry is 15 years older than Daniel and Johnny. Yet, he still managed to beat each of these much younger “active karate practitioners” in a 1-on-1 fight. 3) Terry showed no signs of weakness or fatigue during his weapon fight with Chozen. So, if Terry Silver is actually terminally ill, then he has a damn near “supernatural resistance” to the effects of his illness.

Silver is easily the best villain in the Cobra Kai series. The actor has serious real martial arts skills and is younger than Kreese so he, like Chozen, brings real credible martial arts to the show. His spinning back kick to the body is a thing of beauty

Daniel did beat Silver in the end but Silver was already seriously diminished from his epic fight with Chozen who beat Silver but Terry used a dirty move after Chozen already beat him. Of course Chozen should have never taken his eyes off Silver even for a moment

If Silver gives his life for Kreese as you suggested, Silver should say something along the lines of, "Now we're even" with his dying breath, as payback for saving his life back in Vietnam.
@j_ravioli61542 жыл бұрын
The idea that Silver might sacrifice himself is great. I originally had the thought that Kreese would die this season to save Johnny or something (cause silver mentioned that Kreese's weakness is Johnny so he'd do a redemption thing) but I prefer your take on it!

As much as I love S5 I also had problems with it: 1. The Mexico trip was a waste of time. They should have taken an extra episode to up the stakes and resolve the interpersonal issues then. 2. The water park slide race was the most cringe-worthy thing of the entire series. Trying to make it look intense just made it even more goofy. 3. Everyone getting drunk and deciding to go kick Terry Silver's ass was super lazy writing. 4. Kreese's escape from prison was an obvious wanna-be Hanniable Lecter moment, but it falls flat when any logic is applied. The very moment the doctor realized her badge was gone the entire place would have been put on lockdown. If they wanted to have him escape, they should have gone the route of him enticing someone enough to help him escape. Despite these criticisms, I still loved the season.

I mean, if Tori's dealing with a parent that has terminal cancer, and Terry's dying and was a mentor at one point, feel like a good setup to have Tori learn to see past Terry's bullshit and try to help him deal with his issues since she's both blunt and has experience helping somebody that's dying. It'd be an amazing show of strength and growth on Tori's part, and it would also not come from left field since it's a natural big part of who she is and where she's come from, turning an unfortunate situation into having the insight and tenacity to do something good and turn somebody sick around Also think that Silver's medicine is for his mental state rather than physical. I think that whole setup was to show that he was willingly repressing his sociopathic urges, but Kreese opened the door

In season 6 I want to seenthe awesome 4some of Daniel, Johnny, Chozen and Mike. Daniel and Jhnny have been the heart since day 1, Chozen has been a scene stealer since his first appearance. But Mike with what little screen time he had was sensational, and hos smackdown of the two people left against Johnny was the best moment of combat in the entire show so far for me. Imagine Daniel and Chozen teaching defense and state of mind, and Johnny and Mike teaching offense....

in no way is season 5 a final wrap. I don't think there is enough beyond 1 or maybe two more seasons (for the main story) there is plenty for spin-offs. But the end of 5 clearly marks Kreese is coming back and more furious than ever. But the writers really need to start progressing toward the conclusion of the main story.

I think that actually could be the case . The writers have mentioned before that they are big ‘ breaking bad ‘ fans. And something that happens is a death through illness . They may want to take that route. And it seems the only possible way to give a villain closure since prison can’t do it lol.

I suspect the theory is correct, and that Terry Silver will pass away at the start of Season 6, possibly attacking his guards and forcing them to kill him, so he can die fighting rather than lying in a bed. Silver will then leave a sizeable sum of money from his fortune to Kim Da-Eun for the purpose of rebuilding Cobra Kai. She will do so by hiding the source of the money and disavowing Silver's actions that led the students to quit. She will also utilize some of the funds to hire a top-notch legal team to help Kreese out, so that he doesn't get re-arrested for his actions leading to his escape from prison. Kreese will then team up with Kim to run the main dojo and prepare the students (many of whom will come back to Cobra Kai as a result of Kim's actions, and Tori due to her remaining loyalty to Kreese) for the tournament. Kreese will also try to get revenge on Daniel and Johnny for shafting him with the fake lawyer deal.
@LetsGetitBoah2 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't think Kreese will need a top notch legal team. That fact he was unjustifiably locked up and told the counselor{Who I think will help argue his case}, that he didn't want to wither away alone in prison will help the DA allow him to be released. ESPECIALLY since the DA needs to make up for very obviously not looking into the case well enough.

Whether it was sincere or not, John Kreese tried to apologize to Daniel Larusso for his past actions. Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence became good friends, and Daniel Larusso and Chozen became good friends, too. Same thing with Mike Barnes. If Daniel Larusso could forgive them, then why in the world won't he forgive John Kreese for his actions? If Daniel Larusso has that much hate in his heart towards John Kreese, then he's a hypocrite! Remember when he told Samantha (Sam, as he calls his Daughter):"There are no enemies"? Does anyone remember those words?!? Go back to the beginning of the whole Cobra Kai series. Johnny Lawrence re-started Cobra Kai, but it was Daniel Larusso, that let his past, and his fears, get the best of him. I'm really seeing, for the first time, just how much of a hypocrite that Daniel Larusso can be, at least at times. If he can say something like "There are no enemies", then wouldn't he be wise enough to stick to those words, forgive those who have hurt him, and move on with his life?

@@ronaldshank7589 Picture this: You have been tormented by the same dojo for 2 movies which are worth months in your time. You've been getting beaten up, literally pushed off a hill, getting a massive ptsd. And said PTSD is so big that he managed to remember all the quicksilver rules. When Johnny made cobra kai come back he had to go through the entire thing in his head again. Now let me remind you that he became friends with all 3 antagonists of the three movies. Yeah there didn’t need to be a Miyagi voice over when Daniel fought Silver in the finale. The Terry Silver flashback is and was the only thing that should’ve been voiced over in that scene. We don’t need every sprinkle of fan service possible. The Silver flashback being intercut with the fight was perfect. No need for anything else.

In S4 first episode, Silver said something like "I spend months of terrorizing teenager over a high school karate tournament". I think that line will come into play again.
