This song has that effect on many. Terry is always pleased by reactions to it.

Connie. I'm sure Terry will appreciate the comment. However, this isn't his channel, and I filmed that performance and posted this video. If I remember, I'll let him know next time I talk to him.

There was a time when I heard this song that it made me sad, but now that my sweet husband is waiting for me, it gives me hope. Thank you.

From the first time I heard this song, I thought of my mother. When the time came, two dear friends sang it at her funeral. Later I wrote to Terry Smith, thanking him for writing it. You see, my mother was paralyzed from the neck down. She was also a "mouth artist" (held a pencil in her mouth to draw). So the words of this song were perfect for her - drawing pictures in the sand, rise up, come running, reaching for your hand - all things she will do in Paradise.

This is so beautiful, & I didn't know till tonight who wrote it. I learned it last year & sang it at our church accapella & everyone loved it! It truly made me cry the 1st time I heard it! It makes me think of my little twin son, Zane Grant McMullen, [1-17-1980 to 1-29-1980] & of my precious Brother, Terry DeJuan Golden, [4-4-1958 to 12-26-1996] who left much sooner than we planned....but this song says so well what I feel in my heart- that they both will be reaching for me when I cross over!

Susie. It's a great song and I'm sure Terry would appreciate your comment. Unfortunately, this isn't his youtube channel and he didn't upload this video. However, he does have a youtube channel that showcases several of his albums.

@craig9843 Yes, I shot this in 1999 with an 8mm camcorder. The stage is under a pavillion. At the time I processed this, I didn't have the capacity to alter the exposure. Mike Johnson

Mike, My father Jack Doyle passed away last Friday, September 6, 2013. He and my mother, Lois were fans and friends of Terry. This was their favorite song! It will be played at his memorial service in Vermillion SD on October 11, 2013. Is there any way to get in touch with Terry and request that he contact my mother? Thanks, Chris Doyle, Rapid City SD

Sorry, not much I can do about that. We just left the week-long music festival in LeMars, Iowa.

It's probably because it was recorded in 1999 according to far top right of this page...

1999 is the date that I posted the video. Terry Smith wrote this song more than 30-years ago, and Johnny Cash was the first to record it.

Not everyone is making it to that holy city, Christ is the only way, the way is narrow and few there be that enter, believe on Christ and repent, and turn from your wicked ways,
