Heavenly voice and exceptional musical talent !!! Way beyond technical perfection. His voice could wake up Baroque composers from graves. He proved himself that he is more than a child prodigy. Thanks for sharing your gift with us, and I hope it lasts for very long. I also wonder what it would be like if you sing some other popular classical songs, arias, movie songs,... etc. not composed for countertenor with your grown up voice.

I still remember when I first heard his voice in Ständchen , since then he became my favourite boy soloist in last 6 years. Many talented boy trebles don't choose music as their careers due to various reasons. I am so happy to see that Terry has become a countertenor now and keep singing.

On several occasions, I was honored to speak with his grandmother who lived in Batesburg, S.C. Years ago I owned copies of both of his solo CDs recorded while he was a Wiener Sängerknabe. "Born to Sing" and "O Holy Night". Little piece of trivia: Terry did NOT want to have to include "White Christmas" on his CD. 😁😁I also spoke to Terry via telephone on multiple occasions. (We won't mention what that did to my long distance phone bill back in 2000-2001!!!!

This is the first I've heard of Terry Wey and I am blown out of the water. Dear God that's beautiful. He takes all my typical criticisms of countertenors and just wipes them away. I'm going to hear him sing the St. Matthew Passion this evening and I think it's going to be a thrilling experience.

Der Beste!!! So schlicht und einfach!!! (Jakub ist auch gut, ) Emotion .Bercelli und Senesino( der Erste) muessten so sensibel gesungen haben. Danach wurde es zu einer Schau, sowohl auch der Seiten der Komponisten.

Er ist ein wunderbarer Countertenor geworden. Wunderschön und selten. Das eher zarte und sensible Äussere passt auch sehr gut zur Stimme. Terry mach weiter so - wir werden bestimmt noch viel von Dir zu hören bekommen. Vielleicht kommst Du mal zu "Tage alter Musik" , jedes Jahr an Pfingsten in Regensburg?

I'm saddened to report that several years ago Terry's mother, Peggy Wey-Ervin passed away. She taught the youngest boys at the Augarten Palace where the Vienna Choir Boys lived and went to school. She and former director Agnes Grossmann were close friends. Many years prior, Agnes' father Ferdinand Grossmann was director of the choir.

Staying in the game while making the transition to adult singer is difficult---almost no great trebles go on to become great adult singers. You have to respect those who try, and wish him the best. What I hear here is encouraging. I wonder what his modal voice sounds like?

@2010wieliczka Not in every case. A lot of the extremely high-ranging boy trebles who I knew from childhood became basses after puberty. My voice for example had purity and strength rivaling Julie Andrews' soprano, and a four-and-a-half octave range. The size of the range didn't change, I'll admit, but unlike then, I feel most comfortable in the lowest parts of my voice.

Hopefully even better than Andreas Scholl. For me Scholl is technically brilliant, but I often find it's somewhat emotionally flat, has no depth. Possibly this is harder to do in high reaches, but then Michael chance does it just amazingly. I think terry wey retains more expressiveness and playfulness.
