I don’t know what I would do without you. The dealer isn’t having classes these days and there is SO much to learn. Thank you SO much!

Thanks so much Terry, I have the playbook for the Luminaire, but your explanation is much better than theirs!! I have a Sashiko as well, and this sure is a lot easier!!

On the Janome15000 Quilt Maker use the bobbin case with the BLUE DOT. It has LOWER TENSION that the sewing(RED dot) and the embroidery(YELLOW dot).

Did you thread your monofilament on a thread stand or the upright stands in the back or the one in the front? Thanks for all you do!

Thank you for the video. Is that thread okay to iron?
@terrymaffitt40125 жыл бұрын
Cristina Urena - look for a polyester invisible thread like Superior or Sulky. These threads are more heat tolerant than Nylon.

Hello Terry! Are these stitches selected for sewing topstiches on leather? Is Luminaire XP2 be use for stitching on leather or vinyl for handbags projects?
@terrymaffitt40123 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t use them on Vinyl or Leather because of the way the stitch is formed with very small stitches between each longer stitch. Try it on a scrap and see what you think.

Terry How is this stitch different from the Q-04 from the utility stitch menu.
@terrymaffitt40125 жыл бұрын
Michalee Sloan - I will give it a try and show it in a follow up video sharing the Sashiko stitch.

Can this be done on other machines?
@terrymaffitt40125 жыл бұрын
Dana Ion - it depends. Some machines, like Bernina’s, have their version of a hand quilt stitch. I think this stitch looks better than the one on my Bernina though.

Is Upgrade kit 1, more for people that quilt? What group of people would use Upgrade kit 2?
@terrymaffitt40125 жыл бұрын
Cheryl Grider - first of all, Upgrades are typically released annually. This is the first upgrade for the Luminaire, hence the name Kit 1. The kit has more related to embroidery than quilting. There are 75 embroidery designs, 40 couching embroidery designs and 5 new fills in My Design Center. There is also a new 10 5/8 x 10 5/8 hoop.

What brand nylon thread do you use, Terry?
@terrymaffitt40125 жыл бұрын
Sara Purvey - this is an aurifil nylon thread. I have used Sulky as well.

how do you upgrade
@terrymaffitt40125 жыл бұрын
Dianna Normand - I believe you asked this in the Facebook group, but just to make sure your question is answered, an Upgrade is purchased through a Brother Dealer or Baby lock Dealer.
