Knowle West looks just like Southmead but a lot bigger the area has always been a dump with one of the worst names in Bristol the people who say it's not that bad are locals of the estate it's the type of place you will more likely get trouble if they don't know your face K-West will for ever be a shit hole due to it being a high populated part of Bristol like Easton or Bedminster

knowle is a shit hole, lived here all my life and its a terrible place to live.years ago it was great when all the shops were about and we had the swimming baths and that but now its throw a stone in the air and hit a druggie or a thief on the head because they are everywhere, community spirit is gone and I fear for the next generation I really do!

I went to secondary school in knowle, but lived in Withywood. Kids in these areas had/ have the odds stacked against them. Seemed to have changed a little for the better when I went back last year, but the rich/ poor divide in Bristol is still very evident.

I lived in Torrington ave, Knowle from 1973 till 1990. Things have CHANGED! It is really weird to see the bingo on filwood shut down. No garage? So filwood has no shops now then? The swimming pool gone? No jarmans? Wow!! Where do you shop now?

Knowle West isn't that bad, people always associate it with a few names but thats the case in every area. I've lived in both Knowle and the west and I've never had trouble, some people just look for the bad in everything.

Grew up around knowle learnt to swim in pool... brought high land toffee bars in garage before school... need more for residents..... we used to have a liptons supermarket....my dad used to go to old bingo hall when it was a cinema!!! They need more money invested.... Chinese chip shop is the best xxxx
