Sour Puss and Gandy cartoons seem to verge on a metaphysical level even for cartoon. There are examples of astral projection, lucid dreaming and hypnagogic imagery. Most episodes the two of them share the same dreams.

2:25 most of the rest of the cartoon is just old timey ghost cartoon antics fun -- but anyone else feel like this scene in the middle with the ghost-vulture is just REALLY unnerving ? that poor horse...

I think the terrytoon cartoons were way underrated. I've read people said the animation was cheaply done,I disagree,it was as good as any other of that time,much better than today's comuterization!

You've got a true "three-act" story structure. The opening musical number; the desert scene with the ghost vulture who can consume a real horse; and the big showdown in the saloon.
