Very few "unique" items had an interesting enchantment in Skyrim. Zephyr, Ghostblade, Wuuthrad come to mind. Most of "unique" weapons in Skyrim had generic enchantments and didn't even have a unique model for example:Aegisbane, The Pale Blade, Red Eagle's Bane. It was super lame. Is it so hard to come up with a unique model? No, people from Bethesda were just super lazy.

Was never into Fallout 4, so I don't know, but I very MUCH agree with Skyrim. There were like 5 unique blades with different enchantments but the same mesh and textures :/. Akaviri blade, Harkon's sword, Bolar's oathblade, Dragonbane. Now, there were 3-4 redguard 'unique' swords with different enchantments. Windshear, Bloodscythe, Soulrender.

I think the biggest reason why Oblivion is so iconic and memorable is because they absolutely nailed the sound design and soundscape. Everything from the sound of your journal opening to the swishing of a blade to the twang of an arrow to spells shooting off, storms and thunder clashing, monsters screaming, bandits shouting, and the music!! Oooooohetc the music!!

yeah that's a known bug of the rosethorn hall. There are certain spots that where this will happen. Also you can't place sigil stones. They will also go nuts for some reason

i stoped playing skyrim and this is one of the reasons...no matter steel or dragonbone...its almost the same..what a shame...i love skyrim but now i started oblivion and i am in love again...i like it more than skyrim...the story,the quests,gameplay...the map,the world....seems more like the wonderland of elder scrolls..skyrim is very poor on visuals,effects and overall appearence...its a shame but this is it...im waiting tes 6 :)

Dragonsword of Lainlyn. A one-handed longsword added in the Battlehorn Castle DLC, at lvl 25+ it does 23 base damage, 30 points of Fire Damage, Absorbs 25 Stamina for 5 seconds, and teaches a Lesser Power that is immune to Silence and does 30 Fire Damage in 10ft of the target. Absorbing all of an enemies stamina causes them to stagger and fall down, second only to paralysis magic. Dragonsword has the highest absorb stamina enchant in the game, and causes enemies to fall down left and right, so they can't block. My favorite weapon.

One important note is that the Crusader weapons and armor, if you got them at a lower level, reset to the current leveled effectiveness when you place them on their stand in the Chapel. This also fully repairs the armor, as well as fully recharging the weapons.

I just LOVE the sound effect of Umbra being unsheathed! That and its damage makes my top weapon. I fondly remember cheesing Umbra by jumping on the pillar with multiple 2 handed weapons to level. Then trying normally only to get wrecked when I was younger.

1) There's no way that 9 out of the 10 best weapons are blades. I prefer blades because they weigh a lot less, but most of the most powerful weapons are blunt weapons. Also, the most OP weapon in Oblivion is the Hatreds Soul bow with high-damage enchanted arrows. If your Marksman, Sneak, and Agility are maxed out at 100, you can kill almost anything in the game with two or three long-distance shots. I killed Umaril in two shots once, killed Jyggalag in three shots, killed Umbra in three shots, and killed Mankoran in two shots. If you snipe enemies from far enough back, it drains most of their health AND freezes them because of the speed drain. And if you have three Hatreds Soul bows in your inventory, it will refill the magic every time you swap one out, so you'll have fully charged bows without using Varla Stones or Soul Gems. NOTHING is more powerful than a maxed-out archer with the best bow and arrows.

Umbra stands out the most if you don't do the questline for it because then it remains weightless. However you lose the ability to drop it not that you would ever want to. Weightless umbra provides a large perk to stealth based characters. Imho the best thing you can do in the start of any run is to steal the Dark Brotherhood set from J'ghasta's house and get umbra. It establishes a really effective early game for a stealth character. I also like to pair it with strong poisons and sneak bonuses due to its lack of effect, really brings out its beauty.

Truncheon of Submission ! Bought in Anvil, it actually HEALS your target but depletes his stamina, so you can paralyze without killing ! I also love the troll combo Staff of Everscamp + Azura Star + Apotheosis Staff : basically, scamps perpetually respawn, allowing to constantly fill the Star, allowing to constantly refill Apotheosis. Fire from afar, the scamps can serve as blocking meatshield ! Not that effective, but somewhat funny. But my fav weapons still is the standard one handed Glass Mace. So glossy, so icy !

hmm... thats a tough one I never played as a thief. maybe you are best of enchanting a set of armour. I would always take a set of casual clothes, a ring and an amulet and enchant all of them with a chameleon enchantment to get 100% invisible. But maybe this makes the whole game a little bit too easy ;-)

This is where it gets a little bit complicated. You need an illusion skill of 50 i think (Just level up by spamming any low level illusion spell) to be able to use low end chameleon spells. And then you need 5 large soul gems to enchant your items to get 20% chameleon on each. To enchant them you need access to an enchantment altar, which in the original game can only be found at the arcane university. Which means you need to join the mages guild an get all the recomendations etc.

You can get the ring of kajiiti by completing the daedric quest for meridia, it has 35% chameleon other than that I'm not aware of any item as effective

Shadowrend is an axe if you have a higher blunt stat when you go to the tree of shades, and a sword if you have a higher blade stat or blade and blunt are at the same level

actually in my opinion the best blade in the game is 'The Curse of The Ayleids' its a one of a kind weapon appearing as an elven shortsword / mace (depending on your higher lvl blunt or blade and if equal gives blade) this unique weapon has a broken enchantment where it drains health 100 pts for 1 second and light 100ft 2 seconds and has 45 uses it is supposed to be available at lvl 30+ (no DLC) but is available at any lvl, kinda, is was never properly put in game and was supposed to have more than 1 second of 100 health drain but this doesn't matter because you cant even get it on PC properly the only way to obtain it is at magic place in imperial city but it isn't there you have to make it (enchant it) yourself but you can get same effects as the blade does with the same charge by using the black soul gem or grand soul gem (grand soul filled) this is probably another error that you can make it yourself and it took me 3 months to find it in pc's console (thats how I discovered it) and couldn't find it anywhere online, also why making it is better is you get same effects without having to look for forever in console and is make able on xbox and ps3 cheap instakills on anything with health at or lower than 100 though doesn't work on magic immune creatures like that guy with the 'grey agis' at arena' unless you can break his shield or disarm him

thats not surprising really, as i didnt either. everything I found out was on pc using console commands though when I tried to get it on my highest leveled serious character i couldn't find it again in the console (I just assumed i wasn't looking hard enough and moved on) also i dont think the sword is that important or special anyway because of its basic pre-used weapon skin and that you can get same effect with grand soul gem at Arcane University Cryonasium (FuckSpelling) and that you cant display it because player.placeatme command makes it look like a purple rectangle and if you pick it up and drop it, drag it or TK it and sometimes even sell it your game will crash or freeze... also it's value is -1250 (at least with my mercantile lvl)i know because every time i sold it it took away that muck money from my character before it froze... or crashed PS: if you can find out anything tell me, I would love to know (I dont use mods other than that oblivion unofficial patch if that helps)

Actual strongest: *the mace of doom* To get it go to the frostcrag spire house then save in the living area (the place with the plants) Save there then go and uninstall the dlc (you can reinstall afterwards). When you load your save you’ll be in a black void seeing the inside of a house. Move towards the house and eventually you’ll get teleported inside of it. Leave the house and you’ll be in the testing area. The mace is in the middle of the village. It does over 200 thousand damage and uses blade instead of blunt skill unlike most maces. You can leave the area by fast traveling.

It kind of sucks that the majority of enchanted weapons are blade. I love blunt but there's barely any interesting enchanted weapons you can find. Two handed weapons get even worse treatment.

Yeah You've got a point there. I actually prefer Skyrim's take on the whole blunt/blade and one-handed/ two-handed weapons thing. There is little reason to chose blunt skill over blade skill in Oblivion

When i maxed out everything, did all quests plus dlcs, i went 100% chameleon and found Rockshatter killed enemies of all types faster than everything else, including custom daedric, shadowrendm goldbrand, dawnfang, etc. that shock plus 35% weakness to shock is the winner by a country mile. Plus it’s weightless until you return it for the quest.

The only named weapon I ever use is the Honorblade of Chorrol, because it's strong, can harm ghosts, and weighs nothing. In the rare case that I need something that hits harder, I keep Azura's Star, and a Glass Longsword, enchanted with a two-second soul-trap, and equal parts 2-second Shock, Flame, and Frost damage (for the maximum amount of damage a Grand Soul will allow). With this I can kill almost anything within a couple hits, and I don't need it to have a bunch of uses, because I'm constantly re-filling it every time I kill anything with a white soul.

this is of course a good strategy. You might even want to consider using a daedric longsword and enchant it, since glass weapons are only the third strongest tier. I do have to say however that I prefer unique weapons to custom ones. They just appeal to me more.

I know that sword, it's actually quite good. But the fighters stronghold dlc isn't very common and I prefered to just include arms that most players can get, so I only include the two big dlcs: knights of the nine and shivering isles

One of the few good videos about this topic, im sad that there was no dragon sword of lainlyn, since its one of the most badass, or even the crimson eviscerator The only real problem in this is that there werent any bows, and even though archery is pretty weak in this game, hatreds( whatever) is really good, and with the right arrows you can kick ass, not to mention that dawnfang superior is better than goldbrand

best weapon is umbra and just not start/complete the quest cause it dosent have any weight to it until you finish the quest.

If you go to Vindasel and don´t kill umbra, move back to the shrine of Clavicus Vile and just finish the quest without a reward, you can go back to umbra later, kill her and get her sword, now it will be weightless quest item.

I would disagree with you on that. As you see Goldbrand is my #2, so essentially my #1 from the original game. It is only 3 DMG points short of Umbra's base DMG but its enchantment adds 22 points of fire DMG which makes it much more effective in most circumstances. It also has 3000 magical charge compared to Umbra's 2500. The 120 sec soul trap enchantment is overkill and has little practical use

Itz Kruizy That's a tough one to be honest. There aren't really any unique bows that are particularly effective, besides the fact that Archery is a pretty badly balanced skill in Oblivion. I like to just take the most effective bow I can get (Daedric or Perfect Amber for example) an enchant it using a sigil stone. Add fire, frost or damage health and thats as effective as your bows will get in oblivion
