Hi everyone and welcome back to the first video of 2024! I hope you've all had an amazing Christmas and New Year! Going forward I'm going to be sharing my grocery shop on a Tuesday which will be pretty budget friendly, but we're going to be eating healthily, and on a Saturday I will be sharing 5 family dinners for £25 - which will hopefully give you some good ideas for budget friendly family dinners!

Your right about rinsing then rice, until the water runs clear,takes out some of the starch that makes the rice gloopy,i like the absorbing method (get me 😂) im in the new house now and promptly fell down the stairs, landing in the fireplace on top of a glass globe filled with lights, I didn't want to get up ,thinking id be pierced like a colander, but i escaped with grazes and some rather impressive bruises😂note to self put the lights on 😊

@lastchance6845 absorbing method is cooking the rice in a pan of water with the lid on and just letting the rice absorb the water, can be abit nerve wracking, at first thinking it might burn, but the rice does turn out very well x

I saw where you posted that this video was coming and I made sure to watch it. Except I turned off the notification sound on my phone because my daughters were blowing up my phone in our group chat. So I missed it until just now. Better late then never I guess!! 😂😅 I can’t wait until your meals video comes out. I really want to see how the Yorkshire puddings are made. It looks like you got good value for the money you spent for the groceries. I’m just amazed at how cheap some of the foods are. I hope you bounce back from your treatment and fell better soon. ❤❤

Happy New Year! I do find that it's the snacks, fruit and lunch stuff etc that bump the price up but it's hard not to buy them as everyone just moans there's nothing to eat xx

Is it cheaper do you think to buy your pizza? I make my own usually and sometimes do up pizza kits for the freezer to grab and make.

I think it's probably a bit cheaper to buy pizzas especially if you get the cheap ones, but it's nice knowing what's gone into them when you make them. I do grab ready done sometimes though for a quick dinner xx

@dinnerwithdonna I agree that busy days or days when you are exhausted, stuff like frozen pizza is helpful. As children, my brothers and I thought it a treat to get tv dinners with the little dessert in them.
