Hello Cheryl, For the last 2 years or so I have watched all your videos to tried to learn how to cook as I wanted to feed my new hubby decent food. I have a big note book that I filled with all your recipes and copied everything you did. Well just to let you know we had my husband's mum & Dad and his brother and sister for Xmas, I was a bag of nerves at the thought, but my hubby said I would be fine. Anyway I was told that the Xmas lunch was delicious from the lentil & ham soup to the main meal then the desserts. I was so chuffed , so thank you I could not have done it without your help. You have turned me into a decent home cook. May 2025 bring you a brilliant year ahead filled with love and happiness.

@@JanetBrown-px2jn Thank you so much for your lovely comment, my mum ruled the kitchen it was her domain so she never taught my sister and I how to cook. I can't cook fancy foods just good home cooked meals with the help of Cheryl's videos I managed to cook. Her food really is delicious when you follow the recipes and it's not that expensive for the ingredients. A lot cheaper than ready meals or take away food. Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy Hogmanay. PS. if you are not Scottish Hogmanay means Happy New Year.

I enjoy listening to your menu and hearIng the lovely Scots accent that reminds me of my mom. She passed in August and was from Prestwick Scotland. Great prices on root veg. The carrots looked amazing.

I concur! Extra special thanks to whomever made your seasonal opening. It is outstanding and we all appreciate the effort. Cleaned out the meat off of the turkey and made turkey pot pie filling. Also made the short crust pastry for the pie, got the turkey bones roasted to make turkey stock, and boiled down fresh raspberries for the raspberry ruglach cookies I will be making for New Year's. Thank you for the video. ps: Company finally leaves tomorrow 🙏

Interesting, those raspberries are at least half the price, if not more, of the in-season ones here in New Zealand. I haven't seen frozen baked potatoes or Hasselback potatoes here. I think your groceries are cheaper than here, on the whole.

Wow! I still can’t get over how cheap your food is over there Cheryl , just about everything that you mentioned in this video is only half of what we pay here in Florida. It’s crazy.! Thank you for a full year of wonderful videos and wishing you and your family the best 2025…. Cheers! Brian

Cheryl , people these days forget there are Twelve Days of Christmas , decorations are not supposed to come down until the twelfth day of The Festive Period , unfortunately people spoil this by sticking up their Christmas Tree and Decorations on the day after Halloween , absolute crazy , sure the large Easter Eggs were in Tesco in the days before Christmas Day , madness 😮

@@robertgoh7420 I go back to the healthy food as much as possible on the 26th. Still have a tiny bit of ham in the fridge but just had yogurt and berries for lunch. But my mother always made us take the tree down the day after New years. Always. I think it was because she could make us help her do it since we were still on school vacation😅

Good evening, Cheryl. Everything looks great in your haul. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the parsnips. My mom used to make parsnip stew but she has passed and she didn't have a recipe for it and I have no idea how she made it. We love parsnips but I have trouble finding them in the stores I shop at. Have a good rest of your day and see you tomorrow.
@LindaC61616 сағат бұрын
I found a recipe that I tried once out of curiosity and I love it! You boil the parsnips and milk with bay leaf and then mash them and add pecorino romano and sometime. Excellent, and it introduced me to pecorino

Hi Cheryl. What a haul. I absolutely love when supermarkets reduce their veg right down in price, but if they can do it for Christmas, then they should be able to do it all year round! Please let us know how the tomato curry marinade is... it sounds absolutely delicious and I'm on the hunt for it. Which butcher sells this? 🙂xx
