ARK is an index fund, they buy and sell all the time to keep their portfolios balanced. They aren't allowed to let any stock overgrow it's allowance. So they sell when it gets too big, then buy when it gets too small. Can't read the tea leaves from ARK. If you try to follow them, just buy their fund instead.

There is a huge lag between when rate cuts are implemented and the effects are actually felt. Not only that, but rate cuts themselves always happen based on lagging indicators, such as unemployment (unemployment data always lags hiring data since businesses stop hiring before they start firing). This is why rate cuts have almost never successfully prevented a recession. We saw it in '08. The yield curve uninverted, the fed cut rates, the markets surged for a bit based on false hope and reality set in soon after as the bad unemployment data caught up to the bad hiring data and it was armageddon from there. Just to let you know problem solved. 6 steering wheel buttons getting frozen or stuck is due to restng your hand or fingers on them. After 7 service visits with no solution until the Tesla App gave me instructions for proper usage. Keep your hands and fingers off any of the 6 buttons. I've never had the problem return. I've also had parts replaced steering wheels, modules, etc. Just keep your hands away from the buttons and they won't freeze.

ARK typically sells TSLA on these large runs, because they own so much, these bumps throw their funds out of balance from an allocation perspective. They sell to get things back in balance as a single stock can not typically take up over "x" % of a fund. It has nothing to do more than that.

Just a car company = only car company making profit on every model, best selling vehicle, best selling EV truck less than a year after starting deliveries and not selling inexpensive model. Last I checked, there wasn’t another car company that was also a huge power company restructuring the world’s power grid and still ramping up, Battery company, autonomous driving, AI, rideshare network , robots, worldwide automobile fueling network, semi truck company just getting started…not to mention zero debt, very little advertising costs,and other car companies still pay them for regulatory credits, all of which pays for massive product research and development while still adding to cash flow. Most funds have a maximum cap % on how much of each stock they can hold. Anywhere between 5-10%. I believe ARC was 10% Tesla. So if the stock rises by 20% in one day they must sell to rebalance their fund. Just as S&P 500 funds must.

Most analysts are looking at today and possibly 6 months out. That’s largely the automotive business. It’s the lower cost car that Tesla is going to come out by mid year. It’s the existing S3XY models and the CT. DOJO, Energy, RoboTaxi, and Optimus are all beyond that window. No amount of hope for the products will move that metric. Note I added Energy into this group because even at the full production capacity of existing plants it won’t be significant against the existing automotive earnings. TESLA needs at lest 3 times the current production capacity to produce enough energy to make it significant globally and in the end will need many times that to produce their share of global energy.

Tesla stock dipped severally , resulting to about 23% drop in the shares value this month. I seriously need suggestions on how to diversify my $400k portfolio made up of volatile TSLA.

SMR thinks he's not timing the market, but in a way he is - look at all the money he's lost by investing in Tesla (which as he admits has gone no where for years) and not investing in during that same time period in (for example) Apple. He sees investment only through the eyes a retail investor like himself - not through the eyes of the fund managers he mocks, that can't just throw everything into one fav stock waiting for the day it finally blows up.

No, SMR is NOT attempting to Time the market. What he is doing is called "Dollar Cost Averaging" as a technique for purchasing shares. ie Buying shares on a regular time basic, no matter what the current price is. This is a Risk Management technique. It doesn't matter if the stock price is rising or dropping: you just keep buying. You just keep buying every month, or whatever. NOTE: It also applies if you wish to withdraw from a Stock. ie Cashing in a small number of shares on a regular basis instead of just one big sale. This technique has the benefit of smoothing out prices paid for purchasing OR selling shares. Note also: This technique is also used by Find Managers. But often FM buy/sell when they have a formal Re-Balance of their funds. That's when the effect of rises and falls are reflected in the share prices in relation to the maximum/minimum Dollar amounts of shares the Fund is allowed to hold. IE The Fund could be a Balanced Fund or a Conservative Fund or Aggressive Fund and each fund will have their own limits they are able to hold in any one stock. If it goes over, they must re-balance to get back to the guidelines. The Fund Manager has a fiduciary duty to follow the guidelines which will differ for each fund they manage. So the Fund Manager does not have a choice. They must rebalance. Cheers.

@@johnwilson5743 I know about dollar cost averaging. My point is, when you are just buying one stock, you are effectively timing the market, because there are opportunity costs. SMR consistently makes fun of the FMs, but he doesn't live in their shoes. Just trying to point that out.

​@@johnwilson5743 Duh-I know about cost averaging. What I am pointing out, is that if you only invest (cost average) into one stock, there are opportunity costs to that strategy. If that stock doesnt move for years while some other stocks you missed out on move - you are indirectly timing the market because you decided (as an example, Apple) isnt going anywhere. SMR constantly mocks the FMs - but he does NOT seem to get (or pretends not to understand) that he doesn't walk in their shoes.
