I went to the Tesla showroom in Bangkok yesterday. Great staff guy named Big (all Thais have nicknames from birth) and I talked about all things Tesla. He asked me about Project Juniper because he said his Model Y sales have slowed a bit and many, many customers have told him they're waiting for Juniper to go into production. I told him I read that Juniper was starting assembly test in Shanghai right about now and should be released in Q1 and he seemed very happy. As per Tesla policy, they don't tell the showroom staff anything confidential about product launch timelines.

With all the cars in California as they drive round the city they can build their own maps. Maps can be instantly updated to the fleet as roads are closed due to accidents os road works. Part of the plan for the timeline for the Cybercab could be related to the tech used to remote into the Optimus robots. They will use it to remote into the Cybercab like Waymo does until they the march of nines long enough and they get legislator to agree that they're safe enough. There could also still be the one in 100 million miles driven edge cases where the remote operators can then remote into vehicles experiencing an issue, especially since the Cybercab won't have a steering wheel and pedals.

Hmmm... if no other company on Earth is able to make money on pure battery EVs (BEVs), then what company can survive a shift to making all BEVs? It appears that until these other companies can get their COG and manufacturing costs down to where Tesla is, that it will be impossible to compete at the same market level. This means that only companies that make expensive, boutique EVs can survive. They never will be able to take on Tesla. Except for state supported Chinese EV companies.... they can artificially do so until the CCP turns off the honey tap... then the collapse will be quick.

It’s not a good thing for the future of electric cars for Tesla to be the only one making money. If the others aren’t then they will go out of their way to cause problems for Tesla and on top of this the market will shrink as less and less companies make electric vehicles giving less choice to the consumer. The end result will be the proliferation and normalisation of hybrids and other tech that keeps the legacy at companies alive. Not good for the environment and it will serve Tesla badly too.
