Thanks for the update. In Finland, in winter the rear camera is currently useless, gets covered in muck immediately you start driving. A rear washer was my single biggest wish for the new Y. But even a standard camera wash would not be enough for FSD since the visibility would be needed at all times (not just occasionally as for looking behind or reversing) and washing the camera non-stop is not realistic. So some sort of wiper system or equivalent would be needed as is the case with the windshield camera. Otherwise FSD will never be possible in countries with lots of snow or slush or road dirt etc or even rain, in winter.

Yea I think it would need to be a combination of sprayer and some moving wiper to make it work, otherwise it'll run out of washer fluids quick

Do any of you have any ideas on what other method they could directly implement as a retrofit to each camera lens to make it stay clean aside from passive coatings? I'm thinking maybe a nozzle that constantly blows a steam of high pressure air...

Heating to melt snow and ice and washer to clean dirt and grime. If using for self-driving would need notification or alarm when water/cleaning fluid gets low because if runs out could lead to safety issue.

#1 front cameras should be at least 3 inches behind windshield will result in 95% less occlusion. Musk needs to hire me not goofballs who Uber rather than drive..fog is unsolvable with cameras as it just is not a camera glass issue..these things I know

Elon Musk has been talking a big game about every Tesla with at least HW3 eventually being able to serve on their upcoming Robotaxi app, and he's promised a new computer if it should prove necessary for that. Does this mean Tesla would also retrofit cars with camera cleaning stuff?
