Love the video and seeing your road trip and camping experience! The Coalinga SC, San Mateo SC and the Ukiah SC you went to were also V3’s. A good way to distinguish the version SC, aside from the thickness of the cable, is the metal band at the base of the handle (present on V2 but not V3). Just found your channel! Hi Taylor! Found your channel about 2/3 weeks ago, and have seen a few of your videos so far. I recently picked up a MYAWD 7-seater (I have kids), and I'm interested in doing some car camping in the future. Little by little I'm getting a few things, like shades for all the windows, a car mattress and a car tent (where you open the trunk and attach the tent to it). I very much appreciate the information on campgrounds around the west coast (I live in San Diego) and getting a feel on how to plan around for supercharging and having a ballpark idea on what the overnight consumption is on camp mode. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and seeing what things you try and think are good additions, or not so much. Good luck and stay safe out there! - (liked and subscribed :) -

Can you provide any safety tips or precautions to follow when sleeping in an electric car to avoid potential hazards?
@taylordencermedia6 ай бұрын
@@iBasskung that is an excellent question! It is very safe to sleep in the Tesla overnight. In fact, Tesla has a safeguard when using camp mode, if the battery reaches 20% it will automatically shut off camp mode so that it does not empty your battery. Additionally, while using camp mode, it disables sentry mode or the car alarm. This is just something to be aware of and to just make sure you lock the car before going to sleep. I also keep the drivers seat free of any items so in case for whatever reason I need to climb over and drive away quickly, I can.

I was conditioned to the shared power notion also. So I'd guess if it says 250kW and not 150kW it would be dedicated. The shared ones may say A and B. Faster Charging, No More Power Sharing V3 is a completely new architecture for Supercharging. A new 1MW power cabinet with a similar design to our utility-scale products supports peak rates of up to 250kW per car.
@taylordencermedia8 ай бұрын
Yep exactly. I didn’t realize that some of the superchargers I went to were actually V3 instead of V2, but I guess someone else in the comments mentioned you can tell the difference by the thickness of the cable and the presence of a metal band below the connector.

Awesome trip ladies 👏🏻✌🏻😎. FYI: the Acopower sub trunk fridge is awesome. I just bought one for my Model Y LR and moved the mattress (Lost Horizon) to the frunk for storage. The next phase for the Y will be a double induction cooktop, camping cookware, portable coffee maker, water storage and a cooktop/table of some sort. That should round out the camping setup (maybe a rooftop cargo box on crossbars for additional storage 🤔).

@@paulkieffer1189 Be aware that aerodynamic drag has a much more dramatic impact on electric vehicles due to the fact that they are so efficient compared to ICE vehicles. Thanks for the support, glad you enjoyed! And nope, the only time I've had to wait for a supercharger is the one I use frequently close to home and the most I've ever had to wait is like two minutes. Never had to wait on my road trips before. But people typically aren't there very long so spots open up regularly.

Great video and beautiful scenery! Cooler seems like a great solution for the frunk. Do you carry a camp stove of any kind of chairs or table?
@taylordencermedia9 ай бұрын
Thank you! The scenery was so beautiful! The cooler does alright! I'm still open to trying something else but for now it has worked out okay. I don't have any cooking gear yet but I'm actually about to purchase a camp stove this week! I do have a GCI chair but no table. Nearly all the campsites I've been to have a picnic table and I try to pack as light as possible, and chairs and tables take up a lot of space. But i'm not opposed to that either if I can find something small enough!
@bickert199 ай бұрын
@@taylordencermedia Yeah I get the packing light thing. Most people tend to have too much gear, which can be overwhelming unpacking and repacking. For short trips it’s way easier to just pick up food on your way and keep snacks handy, but it can be nice to cook a hot meal at camp. Also I agree, established campsites provide a lot of amenities that mean you do not have to carry your own supplies. Safe travels!
@taylordencermedia9 ай бұрын
@@bickert19 yep exactly, I think if I had a spare tent or EZ-up where I could store everything overnight that might be better...but we're not there just yet haha. Now that I've done several road trips & camping trips we're going to start trying our hand at cooking a hot meal or two (but you're right, it's sooo convenient to pickup food in a nearby town!) Honest question , how safe was it driving through SF? Heard too many bad things and that I should avoid it at all costs on my trip.
@taylordencermedia8 ай бұрын
Super valid question, as I had the same concerns with it being my first time visiting. There are a lot of wonderful things about San Francisco, you just have to research what they are. In our case we stayed in a hotel each night we were there (which had an underground parking garage and valet attendants) so generally I felt way better about that than parking the car on the street. And then we walked to dinner and everywhere else we wanted to go. If you've never experienced the city, don't let that deter you from at least experiencing it once, just be vigilant and you'll be fine (:
