Here in the Netherlands you can put your Tesla in carwash mode from Drive. Below like 1mph.

It also works if you put your seatbelt on and put it in park then go to your touchscreen and touch service then touch toe mode then it will put it in neutral for you and you can feel it releasing

You can't switch to car wash mode while in Drive to prevent some idiots from switching to car wash mode while driving in highway for example. makes sense?

Glad the mode is here but looking forward to improvements. It's overcomplicated as it is now. I use conveyor touch washes once or twice a week and have mastered the manual N shift but a proper wash mode would be awesome.

The only real improvement that I can think of would be the ability to put it into car wash mode without putting it in park. What else would you want?

What’s your technique for conveyor car washes. Only washed mine by hand. Do you just pull up, shift to N, and hit car wash mode?

Car wash mode does not put it into neutral. There is a separate option to enable free roll. He kept referring to the free roll option as car wash mode for some reason. Basically, while you're waiting in line, put it into car wash mode. There's no need to wait until the last second. When ready, enable free roll. I also have to note that he went to the menu to fold the mirrors, even though there is a fold mirror option from the car wash mode screen.

Well that kind of sucks to have to do all that. Why can't you just put the car in neutral gear when you get to the car wash pull through like every other car on the market. Doesn't the Tesla have a Neutral gear setting??? The more I read about Tesla, the more screwy it seems to do basic things with it. Chevy EV vehicles you just put the car in Neutral, and I am good to go. This video is one year old so maybe Tesla has got their act together and got rid of all this Bullcrap.

Strange that you need to put the car in P to permit you to engage CW mode - not so intuitive there, until you’ve done it a few times. Would think that engaging CW mode would also put it in neutral for you (you’d engage it as the conveyor pulls on your tire)- perhaps that’s too late - water risk. Good stuff - thanks for posting!

You put it in car wash mode ahead of time so the car is prepped. Then you just press the free roll button when ready.
