It's 8RMG765, 2018 2.3 Ecoboost Mustang, VIN# 1FATP8UH1J5155190. Looks like it was last serviced on 10/02/23 at Fullerton Ford with 99k miles (and is apparently due for its next service there very soon). Apparently the registration is 2 months overdue (expired 2/22/24), last title update was in 2/22/23 where it says title was issued and loan/lien reported (aka probably bought it used in Feb 2023)

Normally, the standard procedure for this kind of seemingly insurance fraud is that they'll wait for you to tail gate them, then brake, so you hit them. They then escape, saying you ramed them, and they ran afraid for their life.

The Mustang doesn't look like it was more damaged after hitting the Cybertruck. It had the rubber from the tire on the door which could be cleaned off with the right cleaning solution. I would argue that point if there is an insurance scam that comes of this against the Tesla. Not sure how they would claim anything when the physical damage is nearly the same as before the impact.

California unfortunately doesn't go after hit and runs anymore. They consider that misdeameanor and no jail time. If you call police they will tell you that youll have to go thru your insurance and claim thru insurance. CA has become no lawless MAD MAX. My mom was struck from behind while idling and LAPD said they can't do anything about it even with pics of plates and everything. So we had to go thru Statefarm and claim uninsured hit and run and since we have full coverage we got covered.

it's gotta be definitely on purpose. IDK the actual term but some people have this weird fetish to desecrate/destroy nice clean, beautiful things. Most of the 'ugly' on that white Mustang came from the front tyre sidewall impact. When l was 16, a Jag came out from a parking spot and l collided with it, leaving mostly bike tyre marks along the right side doors.

Did you call the police while you were driving? If not, you should have called and reported it and mentioned that you had a reckless driver, possibly drunk, and followed him from a safe distance and asked if police could come and find him on the highway because he is a threat to other drivers' safety.

I remember when I had a BMW and a Corvette back in the days when BMW hate was at it's zenith, and how much abuse I used to get. People would literally try to run me off the road, flip me the bird, cut me off and often go insane. I even had one "Yuppy" gas station attendant refuse to pump gas into a BMW. However, when I drove the Corvette, it was totally opposite, people would wave give me the thumbs-up, and often service station attendants were overly friendly.

Interesting indeed. So far 90% has been positive interactions and 10% got thumbs down and flip off, but it’s been rare. Most has been more positive but this one seems to be that 10% and not so much accidental. Funny is that this truck is Made in American by Americans you would think it would get similar reactions like any American truck. It will be interesting once authority find this guy.

Help you??? You need to go file a police 👮 report and give those 2 license plate numbers to your insurance and they can go after them. When you police run those 2 plate number they’ll be able to tell you exactly who owns that car and who you can go sue.

This is what I think. NHSTA is hyperfocused on auto pilot. And fsd. And they have not done one thing to rid the roads of people who drive like this. I think we need extreemely strict driving laws, an people who simply weave in an out of traffic should have their license suspended for 1 year. Even the recent one in oregon, the driver was arrested after admitting to looking down at his phone to text. Why isn't apple an google required to disable functionality while people are driving, tesla is, an does. Edit: The collision was willful as well, ie yes the mustang sideswiped you on purpose, imo.

I don't think it was willful, he just seems to be a wreckless driver. The car was already beat up and he was weaving through traffic already. Likely he did it just from not even looking and didn't even care. As for stopping people like this, how? At best you can have people call the police while driving to report a wreckless driver as the ones doing speed traps can't even tell. There will always be wreckless drivers just like there seems to be a large portion of people who drive with their high beams on all the time. And phones do have a feature to turn them off while driving, at least on android. It's called drive mode. The thing is it can't be automatic unless hooking to a car because how can the phone tell if you're driving vs being a passenger? And one of the main things people do as a passenger anymore is use their phone. Honestly there should be more laws on touchscreens and generally unintuitive controls in cars anymore as they obviously distracting. I basically have to have my autopilot on to use the menus in my Toyota. It's really getting out of hand.

I used to work for one of the pioneers of Hypnotherapy who wrote books on psychology and psycho-emotional influences, who later founded a media network I worked for, and was taken-back by how people were influenced by Talk Radio hosts, some to psychotically so. Being In Portland during almost two years of riots and resentment I see how easily triggered many people are by political and corporate brands like Starbucks and now Musk and Tesla, and I FREQUENTLY encounter people eager to boast and project their resentment of Elon Musk. I know three people who know Musk personally, one is a persona friend who did engineering work him, another who was a friend and early Tesla investor, and the third, a banker to worked for him at PayPal, and they all they all have a lot of respect and admiration for Musk and his business ventures and who lament the anti-social attitudes against Musk and Tesla.

I don't think the Mustang driver was doing anything as rational or pre-meditated as carrying out an insurance scam. If that were the case, then why didn't he pull over after the collision? If he was planning to scam the CT driver, then he would have had to contact him. When he realized that he was doing far more damage to his own (or stolen) car than to the CT, he gave up and drove off. He's a complete moron if he doesn't know that Teslas are festooned with cameras, and that his actions were being recorded. He never had a hope of pulling off a scam.

I would have followed him in a safe manner and report him right away. That Mustang looked very rough with all the panels misaligned. Looks like it’s someone that does this a lot. Possibly a stolen vehicle or stolen tags.

Notice the front end of the mustang and hood. Its all banged up, even the rear bumper. So you can see they have a history of banging the car around, done on purpose, If I had to guess, you must be in CA which wouldn't surprise me base off the behavior of that driver.....lol
