Tesla gave me a Model Y Performance!!!

I’ve owned a M3 LR and now have a MY P, and I do miss the handling of my M3 LR.

I owned a 2021 Model 3 LR for 7 months, but then the prices dropped on the used Model Y's and I picked up a 2022 Model Y Performance. Major difference and it's just as you said the Model 3 felt fast because you drop into the seats, it's lower. The Model Y you scoot over onto the seats. So when you press the pedal just a bit, your car can jerk in the Model 3, but the Model Y, you feel the weight. Two different experiences.

I have the Model 3 Performance lowered with Mountain Pass Performance coil overs and Tesla zero g wheels. The car handles much better now and absorbs the bumps more comfortably. My wife just picked up the 2023 Model Y Performance. The Model Y rides pretty comfortably compared to my stock Model 3. The newer Model Y has better sound deadening and has less road noise even with the 21” wheels. The Model Y has the bio hazard mode and hepa filter. The storage and headroom in the Model Y is better as well. I actually prefer the seating position in the Model Y when compared to the Model 3. I feel more sunken down in the 3 and prefer the higher position in the Y. They are both good vehicles.

So why did you bring your M3 to the service center for? Me, I brought my 53k km 2020 M3 SR+ last Thursday to them because of squeaky front shocks. Yep, road surface is pretty bad in Quebec, Canada... They ended up replacing all 4 shocks + link assemblies + control arms + bearings + alignment, all under warranty! Wow, the comfort feels like a brand new car now! Thanks Tesla! Great service

A loose ground wire was causing my power steering to go in and out. I made a separate video with the details on that, and what it cost me to have it fixed. I’m out of warranty.

Chicago - Elston Ave. I’ve also been to Westmont and the new one in Orland Park for their grand opening. Elston is the only one that I never struggle to get a loaner.

@@BecauseTesla Orland Park won’t give me a loaner unless they need my car overnight, Westmont sometimes only has loaners, so should I go to Elston? I just hate the downtown

@@timothysays It's been my experience that Elston is less busy than the other locations, for the same reason you don't want to go there. So they've always had loaners for me.

Didn’t know they were still making Stealths. I have a 2018 Stealth 3. Free upgrade during Q3 2018 chaos.

I don’t think it’s a stealth. I remember those. The main reason I didn’t get a stealth is because it had standard brakes. This model Y has the larger performance brakes. The only thing it’s missing is the spoiler and performance badge on the back. It’s much easier to remove those than to swap brakes. I also remember a batch of performance cars that didn’t come with spoilers because of an inventory problem. Those owners had to schedule a service call later to have them installed. Maybe this was one of those. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Could be a LR boosted?

My Model 3 is boosted and doesn’t have the red line under “dual motor” on the software screen. Only performance models have that. This model Y has that red line.

Not sure that's a genuine Performance. Looks like it might just be LR with the performance upgrade. Some telltale signs of that. The materials inside my Y-performance are a step-up from that.

This is a performance model it says so on the screen. You will also see track mode. Even the cars with the boost package do not receive track mode.

The Model Y really isn’t that much different than my Model 3, which I’ve had 4 years use. I’m only pointing out a few small differences in this video.
