Tesla Interior Detail | Gyeon Interior Detailer & The Rag Company

With the 2021 Tesla Model 3 joining the Omni Garage fleet, it’s time to start another detail series with the aim of correcting and protecting the vehicle.
In this sixth part of the series, we work on the interior of the car. We start by first cleaning the glass with Invisible Glass, then the work through the remaining surfaces (including the vinyl/leather seats) using Gyeon’s Interior Detailer.
As always, we used towels from The Rag Company, and have introduced some new brushes from Detail Factory to our process to help clean some of the tougher to reach areas.

Gyeon interior detailer is fantastic! I really like Invisible Glass. Have You tried Gyeon Glass Cleaner? excellent stuff. Try some if You haven't.

Yep, we’ve tried Gyeon Glass (among close to a dozen other glass cleaners!). It’s nice, it’d be right up there among our favourites if it was easily purchased in NZ - we are lacking a gallon size.

That interior detailer from Gyeon looks fantastic. I am going to have to get a bottle of that. A friend of mine also said it was a really good product. I like the fact it has a little alcohol in it to boost the cleaning ability a little bit but also flash off the product quickly. That white interior looks fantastic but I don't think I would be brave enough to get white in my car! LOL I rented a Mazda a couple months ago during travel and it had the white interior and a black exterior paint. I looked absolutely beautiful but again, it would scare me having white interior!

It’s pretty good stuff. Not too sure how I like the idea of using a product with high alcohol content regularly on the dash. Although Gyeon says it is for regular maintenance.

Great review! Is it safe for regular use? Containing alcohol will affect the plastic and dashboard?

Back in March 2022 I messaged Gyeon about this. They said yes it is safe you use regularly. They also said “the unique formula of Q²M Interior Detailer, beside its high alcohol contenance, special surfactant and selected ingredient make it non-agressive for the structure of both trim, leather or fabric.”

How does something like gyeon ID compare to just using ONR in a spray bottle? ONR would be way cheaper and seems like it could do the trick for basic cleaning too.

I’m unsure sorry. I have never used ONR for interior cleaning.

I've used both and prefer ONR. ONR is fantastic on the interior diluted 256:1. I prefer ONR due to the value. It's also non alcohol. Not sure I like using a product that is 60% alcohol based (Gyeon).

Fair call. We haven’t tried ONR as a interior cleaner yet. Sounds interesting to try though.

As knowledgeable as the two of you appear, find it strange to inform you that the product you are moving away from, P&S Express Interior Cleaner, is NOT an interior detailer...it is a cleaner. It is supposed to lather up and clean. If it leaves anything behind, which I've not experienced, you are using way too much product. (I use it 1:1) It is a great interior cleaner and compliments any interior detailer, such as the one you feature here.

I’m a bit confused about the term “detail” and “clean”. Whenever you use a detailing product in your interior it’s being cleaned. P&S only really have one interior cleaning product. So if you wanted to “detail” the interior and not necessarily “clean” it, using their line of products which one would you use as a “interior detailer?”

@@OmniGarage Agreed, most detailers contain a mild cleaning element. As you stated, P&S does not have a specifically defined detailer...I use Megs QID, I've tried others, yet always come back. I have not tried Gyeon's, yet do plan to give the new one from Carpro a run at some point.

I have had experience with all these products you mentioned. Carpro Inner QD is pretty good. It leaves a matte finish with a citrus/lemon fragrance. You need to be careful with overspray and to buff it all off as it will remain glossy on the trim. I find dust accumulates just as quickly so the anti static claim is not too sure about. It comes in a gallon and available in NZ which is nice. Gyeon Interior Detailer has pretty decent cleaning ability. With an alcohol content it dries/flashes to a clean matte finish. If you get over spray then it flashes without leaving anything behind. I thought ( and so did others from the comments) that the alcohol content could cause degrade/ fade old trim. I contacted Gyeon and no that is not the case. This is safe to use regularly. It has a citrus alcohol scent. The downside is it only comes in 500mL/ 1L sizes and no gallon. It’s not available in NZ.
