I got rid of my Model X last year. I would have definitely upgraded to the yoke steering wheel if I still had it. Great Video!

Where did you purchase this yoke from? Currently trying to find one but so many look like scams lmao.

I just added a link to the steering wheel in the Description section. I use the site AliExpress. It's a really good safe site to purchase things from. I'm actually starting to prefer them over Ebay. It took about two weeks for the steering wheel to arrive.

I hit the link to aliexpress. I don't see any options presented to get the Alcantara covering, looks like it's a plain black leather covering. I see the heated option but how to you specify material?

NM, I think I found it. Had to hit the 'similar items' below and now I see other options.

Bro, I did this to my '15 85D. SO much better, right?

I absolutely love it. At first I was on the fence but that only lasted about 5 days. Once I got comfortable with not having a round steering wheel, I was hooked.

Why would anyone want to replace that monstrosity with a regular steering wheel?
@marenothecarguy83617 ай бұрын
Because not everyone is old.

Specifically for the Tesla X and S, the yoke provides an unobstructed view of the cluster screen and better airflow from the driver side vents.

Every luxury car or sports can in the world uses a round steering wheel. It is the safest, and in an emergency situation you can grab the wheel in a heartbeat.

Most cars have roofs that protect you in a roller over accident, why would anyone have a convertible?
@edmundorivera58255 ай бұрын
Lexus also offers an EV with a yoke. Many luxury manufacturers are exhibiting concepts with yokes. With the advent of steer by wire and or FSD the full wheel at this time isn't necessary, although it may be a personal preference.

@@edmundorivera5825 Concepts mean nothing, because they are not for sale to the public. A yoke is great, *in* *an* *airplane* . But a car sometimes requires you to grab the wheel in a half a second, and make a very aggressive movement, maybe in the dark, to avoid an accident. A round wheel is the best for stressful situations. Every Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes S-Class come with a round steering wheel. The customers would accept nothing less.

@@DerekDavis213 Every car you've ever driven started out as a concept so...And speaking of stressful situations since you brought it up. Are you familiar with Formula 1 racing? Aggressive "movements" or maneuvers maybe, split second decisions. Ferrari, Mercedes, Aston Martin etc haven't used a rounded steering wheel in their race cars since the 90's. Guess what, they all use yokes! You can offer your personal opinion as a customer, but don't claim you have a clue about consumer trends. The future is now, and you're welcome to stay in the past buddy.
