Personally wouldn't class adjusting a steering wheel as an 'essential function'. I get that its annoying having to go through the screen to adjust the steering wheel. But in my current 3 series, that has a manual adjustment, I've literally used it once and never moved the steering wheel since.

Tesla's are amazing EV's. I plan to buy a 3 or Y Long Range with the T Sportline Model 3 and Y upgrade dashboards. The biggest problem with the Model 3 and Y is the phenomenon called Phantom Braking. Hello Jafin 👋 The primary difference between the Model Y Performance and Y Long Range is the electric range, speed and overall performance. The Long Range offers an electric range of 352 miles and sits at the price bracket of £57,990 but isn't as fast as the Performance model. The Performance provides a faster EV with a 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds and 420bhp, and is up for £67,990.

Can anyone advise please...... TESLA Hmmmmmm!!!!! I took ownership of a brand new AWD Model Y on the 23rd of January 2024, and in a little over 2 weeks I have done 760 miles. I don't have a charger at home so I charge at Tesla superchargers at 40p a KW. I go before I start work at 5am when it is the cheapest rate. I did do just over 100 miles of charge at the local shell garge which cost me £26.81 the other 4 superchargers cost me a total of £80.40 thats a whopping £107.21 in 17 days. Does anyone think this is correct or do they think I have an issue with my battery. To be honest the first few day I did put my foot down and have the heating on, some mornng I don't have the heating on at all. I have a 2013 BMW M Sport Diesel and costs me just over £80 to fill it and I would get around 600 miles to a tank of diesel. I regret getting a Tesla now.....

Please don’t advise people to rely on super charges for all of their changing- a location where they can “slow” charge a car is important if you want to maintain the health of the batteries. I know not everyone is fortunate enough to have off-road parking, but finding a location that you can leave a car on a 7Kw charger at regular intervals will really help in the long run, as the heat buildup in the battery during a super charge is not a good, and when done to often leads to reduced range.

S eXY?? Compared to other cars, overall exterior design is , modern, including 'bland'. Default colour 'electrical-goods-white', for this market niche, couldn't they come up with a more distinctive, less 'sensible' colour{ 'shocking'or' electric' colours? !} But 2:38 "Have Tesla played it too safe..?" the invariable aseptic front gets on my nerves, with its usual 'lip' moulding, a big empty white space crowned by a registration plate, and buggy eyes. I'm not a fan but it's still cheaper. However it depends on how many miles you do. For me it would take 20 years to recover the price premium and I also tow a caravan so an ev is out of the question even if I did want one. Unless there are massive changes to battery technology, ie in the use of lithium mining and it's effects on the environment, the charging infrastructure and pricing then EVs are only ever going to remain a niche market but to be honest, I think the government know that. The truth is that if you have any idea about agenda 2030 you won't be going anywhere. That's the end game.

@@bondjamesbond9041 It’s true there have been some electric cars that have caught fire - however there are also some petrol cars that have caught fire! A US study showed that a car full of flammable fuel was much more likely to catch fire than a car full of batteries, however the worst cars were Hybrid - which were 100x more likely to catch fire than a full EV! With regards to quality - The Chinese made cars are much better than the US made ones - however there are still some faults have should not be there with a car in this price point - if you are buying a new one from Tesla, then as long as you do your checks on collection (or inform them within 24 hours) - they will correct the issues promptly. Other things to consider about owning an EV is that they require much less maintenance than a petrol or diesel car, also they go much further for the money - for me around £4 to fully charge 75KWH battery- which should give a range of around 300 miles - the equivalent petrol/diesel car doing would cost about about £40 - so they are far cheaper to run. Don’t forget about the fact they are zero pollution at point of use - and that after a number of miles(for UK between 10-12k miles) have a lower carbon footprint than a ICE. And finally - what other car has a built in fart machine!
