Nice review, I like how you started off with figures on capacity, very informative and unbiased. I have a 5 seat on order for delivery next month, it was helpful to hear your experience as a family, thank you. Subscribed

great review. Me and the wife are having our first kid and currently have a mazda 6. was leaning towards the model y for the extra space but originally was concerned. After this video we feel much better about it. Having only one kid on the way we think this will be a great in between without the need to getting something far bigger. Thanks for the great video!

This review is exactly what I was looking for. Imma wait for the y refresh but definitely getting a y. I had wanted an x just for the extra room, but the price is just so outrageous. That and I feel like the Y is probably built better, considering Tesla has made so many.

Bummer. I didn’t know the 7 seat option wasn’t available in the UK. Hopefully that changes with the factory in… Berlin I believe.

Coming from an Audi SQ5 and test drive the model Y on the 20 inch induction wheels. The suspension felt a little bouncy to me, but otherwise the build quality and ride quality seemed much better then when I seen it years ago. I’m definitely considering it as an option

How did your oldest get into the third row with two carseats in 2 row? Would it make impossible to slide up the second row? Thank you. Great content!
@maxuuell2 жыл бұрын
Great question. The baby’s seat can’t move forward, but the booster seat can. It’s just a taller base, so it can still slide forward, and hinge, to allow the oldest in and out.

@@maxuuell Are there tether hooks to put a car seat in the third row? / Can you put a car seat for an infant as well, same question for booster seats in the third row.

@drewmclean88, from what I found online, the third row has a tether for each seat but no anchors so the lap belt will be needed.

Great review thanks.. we have 3 too but 14-12-8 and i am hesitating between the 5 seaters with more cargo space or the 7 seaters with more room to spread the kid.. would you think one will always use the 3rd row or they will fight to sit on the 2nd row? thanks
@maxuuell2 жыл бұрын
This is something I've pondered for a bit, for once my kids get older. I don't think it's a problem to have one sit in the back all the time. Kinda depends on their sizes.

Hey thank you for the video it was extremely helpful! How was the space getting your youngest into her rear facing car seat? Did you ever find that it was tight trying to get her in? I currently have a little sedan and accidentally boop my daughter’s head on the car door frame trying to get her in so I’m definitely looking for a bigger car.
@maxuuell Жыл бұрын
I never had a problem getting her into the carrier. The Model Y does sit a little higher off the ground than a sedan, so hopefully that would help.

Just the other day I heard about a recent publication that was citing a study of people who drive electric cars versus gasoline cars and whatnot and it mentioned that people who drive Tesla's are roughly half as likely to get into a wreck. One of the speculations for that is the regularity of long distance road trip supercharging stops and the effectively mandatory breaks versus a gasoline car where you don't actually get out and refresh at all but rather keep on driving and that sort of fatigue could possibly lead to wrecks. interesting.
@maxuuell2 жыл бұрын
The mandatory breaks are something everyone should embrace. My dad, and I’m sure many other’s parents, was always go go go, and hated stoping. The reason was always “I just wanna get there faster”. I enjoy the breaks, and will often stretch, walk around, and play games with the kids(red light green light, etc.). People often bring up the extra time charging as a setback. And it may be, because you are taking more time to get to your destination. But, I’ve realized getting to my destination an hour sooner doesn’t change my actual travel plans at all.
@aaronbounds13362 жыл бұрын
@@maxuuell Indeed. Not a burden, but a benefit, in most cases.

Would the model Y work for two tall adults in the front, two teenage kids in the middle row, and two kids under 10 in the back row?
@maxuuell Жыл бұрын
Good question. Maaaaaybe. Depends on the teenages, I think. Might be a stretch, but the adults in the front could scoot forward to sacrifice some leg room, for the others behind them.

Yeah, we put our infant carrier behind me, when we needed too. Now the kids are older, and the rear facing car seat for the 18 month old is always behind the passenger seat. We did look for smaller seats, though.
